President Trump was unhappy with deputy press secretary Raj Shah on Thursday after Shah said the White House could have done a better job handling the situation surrounding abuse allegations against former staff secretary Rob Porter, according to CNN. 

The Hill has reached out to Shah for comment.

Shah said during a press briefing on Thursday that the White House mishandled the reports on the abuse allegations against Portman, stemming from his two ex-wives.

“We all could have done better over the last few hours, the last few days, in dealing with this … but the emerging reports were not reflective of the individual we have come to know,” Shah said

The White House is facing backlash after Porter’s ex-wives, Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughby, told the Daily Mail that they were put through physical and emotional abuse during their marriages to Porter. The Intercept published pictures Wednesday that allegedly showed one of Porter’s ex-wives with a black eye after he allegedly attacked her.
