White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did not “want to spoil anything” on Wednesday, but she elaborated slightly on President Donald Trump’s “fake news media” awards scheduled for Monday at 5 p.m.

Sanders was asked by White House reporters to elaborate on the details of the event, such as if the awards would be televised, how they would be presented, and if there would “be an audience.”

Sanders played coy, giving out only a few details and telling the media “well have to see what happens.”

“I don’t want to spoil anything, but my guess is that there are quite a few individuals that could be up for the awards. Beyond that, I think well have to see what happens on Monday,” Sanders said.

The president tweeted out Tuesday that he will be announcing “the most dishonest and corrupt media awards of the year,” adding the “subjects will cover dishonesty & bad reporting in various categories from the fake new media.”

When asked if the White House press corps would be in the room for the ceremony, Sanders cheerfully referred to “trophies” Trump may be giving out.

“It may be hard for him to present trophies if you guys [members of the media] aren’t there, but I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see what happens Monday.”
