The 100th murder investigation in 2018 has been launched in London as the body of a 73-year-old pensioner was found in a blazing house.

Police say 73-year-old Carole Harrison’s body was found in her house in leafy Teddington, south west London following a blaze in the early hours of Wednesday.

Scotland Yard say she had suffered injuries “consistent with an assault.”
