Release of audio recordings of conversations between US President Donald Trump and former personal lawyer Michael Cohen will make the president’s lies “come out in the wash,” says an American lawmaker.
“They can lie all they want to,” California Democratic Representative Maxine Waters told MSNBC on Sunday. “It’s all going to come out in the wash.”
CNN released the audio tape Tuesday, offering the first public a glimpse at the confidential discussions about how to hush former Playboy model Karen McDougal.
McDougal says she had an affair with Trump in 2006, shortly after the birth of his youngest son.
“I am convinced that in the final analysis they are not going to be able to be successful with the kind of lying that they are doing,” Waters said. “It is obvious. I hope that the other tapes that are in possession of Mr. Cohen will be revealed and we’ll find out more about this president, his schemes, his lying, his payoffs.”
