Obama, Dems set to address Americans after 2016 defeat

US outgoing President Barack Obama and his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are set to address the nation following the party’s failure in the 2016 presidential election.

According to a notice obtained by POLITICO on Sunday, the lame duck president would host an event along with the Democratic National Committee on Monday.

Clinton will join US House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as well as other House Democrats to host a separate event.

“Your support throughout this campaign meant everything to Hillary and her entire team, and we are so grateful to you,” the Clinton campaign wrote in an email sent to House Democrats.
