President Donald Trump says talks on a trade deal between the US and China are progressing well following his phone conversation with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.
Trump said in a Twitter message Saturday that his phone call with Xi was “long and very good” amid a 90-day truce between the two countries over their trade war.
Just had a long and very good call with President Xi of China. Deal is moving along very well. If made, it will be very comprehensive, covering all subjects, areas and points of dispute. Big progress being made!

Meanwhile, Chinese state media reported that Xi said teams from both nations have been working to implement an agreement reached with Trump.
“I hope that the two teams will meet each other half way, work hard, and strive to reach an agreement that is mutually beneficial and beneficial to the world as soon as possible,” state-run Xinhua news…
