Recent protests in the US show that Americans are outraged both by Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim remarks and the US government oppression of Muslims, says an American analyst.
Brian Becker of the ANSWER Coalition made the comments Monday in an interview with Press TV when asked about demonstrations held by hundreds of peace activists in New York City.
The demonstrators took to the streets Sunday to condemn US military involvement in the Middle East and Europe and criticize anti-Muslim statements by US presidential candidates, in particular leading Republican hopeful Trump.
The protesters gathered near the United Nations Headquarters and chanted anti-war slogans. They also called for an end to the war in Syria and NATO expansion in Europe.
“People all along the United States are angry about the fact that Trump is generating Islamophobia and hatred of Muslims and hatred of immigrants,” Becker said.
