A “beautiful” 8-year-old girl has been named as a victim of the Manchester terrorist attack that left at least 22 people dead and 59 injured.
Saffie Rose Roussos was at the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena with her mother Lisa Roussos and Saffie’s sister, Ashlee Bromwich, who were later found injured in separate hospitals.
They are being treated for shrapnel injuries.
Chris Upton, headteacher at Tarleton Community Primary School, where the 8-year-old was a pupil, told the Guardian: “Saffie was simply a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word.
“She was loved by everyone and her warmth and kindness will be remembered fondly. Saffie was quiet and unassuming with a creative flair.”
He added that her death had come as a “tremendous shock.”
John Atkinson, 26, has also been confirmed dead in the terror attack.
Friends and family have paid their respects online, describing him as an “amazing young man” and a “beautiful soul.”
Georgina Callander, 18, has also been named as a victim of the attack.
Her friends said Callander was one of the first people to be rushed to the hospital after the attack, the Evening Standard reports. The teenager died in the hospital with her mother at her bedside.
Callander had tweeted to US pop singer Grande on Sunday, saying: “So excited to see you tomorrow.”
She also shared a picture of herself posing with the pop star in 2015, with the caption: “Thank you for everything my love I miss you.”
Tributes have been pouring in for the teen. Callander’s friends describe her as “a beautiful girl with the kindest heart and soul.”
Actor Sean Maguire took to Twitter to pay his respects to the “young and sweet” teenager.
“Just met this girl in April. She was killed last night in Manchester. My love to her and all the families of the victims,” he tweeted.
Twelve children under the age of 16 were among the 59 casualties taken to hospital after the attack, according to David Ratcliffe, medical director of North West Ambulance Service.
Relatives of at least 13 people missing after the attack have launched frantic searches for their loved ones.
