David Barstow of the New York Times has written the first installment in what is already a stunning exposé of the Bush Administration’s most powerful propaganda weapon used to sell and manage the war on Iraq: the embedding of military propagandists directly into the TV networks as on-air commentators. ديفيد بارستو من صحيفة نيويورك تايمز كتبت القسط الأول منها في ما سبق ان نسبة مذهله exposé من ادارة بوش أقوى الدعايه للاسلحه النووية تستخدم لبيع وادارة الحرب على العراق : تضمين العسكرية الدعاه مباشرة الى شبكات التليفزيون ، كما المعلقين على الهواء. Thanks to the two-year investigation by the New York Times, we today know that Victoria Clarke, then the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, launched the Pentagon military analyst program in early 2002. شكرا لمدة سنتين التحقيق الذي أجرته صحيفة نيويورك تايمز ، ونحن اليوم نعرف ان فيكتوريا كلارك ، فان مساعد وزير الدفاع للشؤون العامة ، اطلق برنامج البنتاغون محلل عسكري في اوائل عام 2002. Clarke and her senior aide, Brent T. As with most propaganda, the key to the success of this effort was the element of concealment, as these analysts and the Bush administration hid the fact that their talking points and marching orders were coming directly from the Pentagon. كما هو الحال في معظم الدعايه ، والعامل الرئيسي لنجاح هذا الجهد هو عنصر الاخفاء ، حسب هؤلاء المحللون وادارة بوش حجبا ان اعمالهم ونقاط الحديث والمسيرات كانت الاوامر القادمة مباشرة من البنتاجون.
The use of these analysts was a glaring violation of journalistic standards. استخدام هؤلاء المحللون هو انتهاك صارخ للمعايير الصحفيه. As the code of ethics of the Society of Professional Journalists explains, journalists are supposed to: كما مدونة لقواعد السلوك للمجتمع للصحفيين المهنيين يفسر ، من المفترض ان الصحفيين :
* Avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived. * تجنب تضارب المصالح ، حقيقية أو متصوره.
* Remain free of associations and activities that may compromise integrity or damage credibility. * لا تزال خالية من الجمعيات والانشطه التي يمكن ان تكون النزاهه والمصداقيه او اضرار.
* Refuse gifts, favors, fees, free travel and special treatment, and shun secondary employment, political involvement, * رفض الهدايا ، وصالح ، والرسوم ، وحرية السفر ومعاملة خاصة ، والتنكر لالثانويه والعمالة ، والمشاركة السياسية ،
public office and service in community organizations if they compromise journalistic integrity. مكتب الخدمات العامة في المجتمع واذا كانت المنظمات الصحفيه سلامة وسطا.
* Disclose unavoidable conflicts. * الكشف عن الصراعات لا يمكن تجنبها.
* Be vigilant and courageous about holding those with power accountable. * ان تكون يقظه وشجاعة عن عقد مع تلك السلطة خاضعه للمساءلة.
* Deny favored treatment to advertisers and special interests and resist their pressure to influence news coverage. * فضلت ان ينكر العلاج للمعلنين والمصالح الخاصة ويقاومون الضغوط للتاثير على التغطيه الاخباريه.
* Be wary of sources offering information for favors or money. * ان نحذر من مصادر المعلومات التي تقدم لصالح او المال.
The networks using these analysts as journalists shamelessly failed to vet their experts and ignored the obvious conflicts of hiring a person with financial relationships to companies profiting from war to be an on-air analyst of war. تستخدم هذه الشبكات المحللين الصحفيين دون خجل ، كما فشل في التعليم والتدريب المهني الخبراء وتجاهل واضح الصراعات التعاقد مع شخص العلاقات المالية للشركات الاستفادة من الحرب ان تكون على الهواء محلل الحرب. They acted as if war was a football game and their military commentators were former coaches and players familiar with the rules and strategies. تصرفت كما لو كانت الحرب لعبة كرة القدم والمعلقين العسكريين السابقين والمدربين واللاعبين على بينة من القواعد والاستراتيجيات. The TV networks even paid these “analysts” for their propaganda, enabling them to present themselves as “third party experts” while parroting White House talking points to sell the war. شبكات التلفزيون حتى تدفع هذه "المحللين" من اجل الدعايه ، وتمكينها من تقديم انفسهم "الخبراء طرف ثالث" في حين ان التقليد البيت الابيض ونقاط للمناقشة لبيع الحرب.
Now that Barstow has blown their cover, the TV networks have generally refused to comment about this matter. والآن وقد بارستو في مهب على تغطية ، وشبكات التليفزيون ، بصورة عامة ، رفض التعليق حول هذا الموضوع. Estimates of the number of Iraqi dead range from the hundreds of thousands to more than a million. التقديرات المتعلقة بعدد القتلى العراقيين مجموعة من مئات الالاف الى اكثر من مليون دولار. The cost to American taxpayers will eventually be in the trillions of dollars. تكلفة دافعى الضرائب الامريكيين فى نهاية المطاف فى تريليونات من الدولارات. More than 4,000 US soldiers have lost their lives, and this is just a part of the horrific toll of mental and physical disability that the war is taking on hundreds of thousands of troops and their families. اكثر من 4000 جندى امريكى فقدوا أرواحهم ، وهذا مجرد جزء من حصيله مروعه من الاعاقه العقليه والبدنيه ان تتخذ الحرب على مئات الآلاف من الجنود واسرهم.
This war would never have been possible had the mainstream news media done its job. هذه الحرب لن يقدم على اي كان من الممكن قد صلب وسائل الاعلام فعلت ما عليها. Instead, it has repeated the Big Lies that sold the war. وبدلا من ذلك ، فقد كرر كبير من الاكاذيب التي تباع الحرب. She may have changed jobs and employers since leaving the Pentagon, but her work remains the same. وقالت انها قد تغيرت الوظائف واصحاب العمل منذ ان ترك البنتاغون ، ولكن عملها لا يزال هو نفسه.

As a patriotic american I am ashamed of the deceptions of the news media. كما الاميركية وطني وانا من المكر بالخجل من وسائل الاعلام. How do these people live with themselves? كيف يعيش هؤلاء الناس مع انفسهم؟
