Pentagon cuts ties with mouthpieces تخفيضات على صلات وثيقة مع البنتاغون لسان الحال
The Pentagon has temporarily stopped feeding information to pundits who generate ‘favorable’ war coverage for the Bush administration. البنتاغون قد توقفت مؤقتا لتغذية المعلومات المثقفون من توليد 'ايجابي' الحرب تغطية لادارة بوش. According to The New York Times, the Defense Department had been giving information to retired military officers serving as pundits for various media organizations in a bid to garner favorable media coverage of the White House wartime performance. ووفقا لصحيفة نيويورك تايمز ، فان وزارة الدفاع قد تقدم معلومات الى الضباط العسكريين المتقاعدين بوصفه المثقفون لمختلف المؤسسات الاعلاميه في محاولة لكسب التغطيه الاعلاميه لمصلحة البيت الأبيض في زمن الحرب الاداء.
“Analysts have been wooed in hundreds of private briefings with senior military leaders, including officials with significant influence over contracting and budget matters, records show,” the Times article read. "المحللين قد سعى لكسب مئات من القطاع الخاص في اجتماعات مع كبار القادة العسكريين ، بمن فيهم مسؤولون التي لها تأثير كبير على مدى والمقاولات ، ومسائل الميزانيه ، وتبين السجلات ،" مرات قراءة المادة.
In return, they echoed President Bush’s talking points, ’sometimes even when they suspected the information was false or inflated’. في المقابل ، كرر الرئيس بوش ونقاط للمناقشة 'في بعض الاحيان حتى عندما يشتبه في أن المعلومات كاذبة او مبالغ فيها'.
“Following the allegations, the story that is printed in the New York Times, I directed my staff to halt, to suspend the activities that may be ongoing with retired military analysts to give me time to review the situation,” said Principal deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs Robert Hastings in an interview with Stripes. "على اثر المزاعم ، حكايه ان تطبع في نيويورك تايمز ، الأول موجه لوقف موظفو مكتبي ، لتعليق الانشطه التي يمكن ان تكون مستمرة مع المتقاعدين من العسكريين المحللون ان يعطيني الوقت لاستعراض الوضع" ، قال نائب مساعد وزير الخارجية الرئيسية الدفاع للشؤون العامة روبرت هاستينجس في مقابلة مع المشارب.
While mainstream US media has chosen to ignore the newfound information, the revelation has caused widespread anger among some high ranking US officials وفي حين ان تعميم وسائل الإعلام الأميركية قد اختارت ان تتجاهل newfound المعلومات ، والوحي قد تسبب فى غضب واسع النطاق فيما بين بعض كبار المسؤولين الامريكيين
“There is nothing inherently wrong with providing information to the public and the press,” Democratic US congressional representative Ike Skelton said. "ليس هناك شيء خطأ اصلا مع تقديم المعلومات الى الجمهور والصحافة ،" الديمقراطيه في الكونغرس الاميركي وقال ايك سكيلتون.
“But there is a problem if the Pentagon is providing special access to retired officers and then basically using them as pawns to spout the administration’s talking points of the day,” continued the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. "لكن هناك مشكلة اذا كان البنتاجون الخاصة بتوفير فرص الحصول على الضباط المتقاعدين وثم استخدامها اساسا لتدفق بيادق الادارة نقاط اليوم ،" واصل رئيس مجلس النواب لجنة القوات المسلحه.
