Più inganno: BBC ammette maneggiare il metraggio di notizie

Il BBC ha ammesso aggiungere il suono dei bambini che gridano al metraggio dei quintuplets sopportati ad una donna russa. Il metraggio originale, distribuito da un ospedale de Oxford delle cinque ragazze, non ha avuto audio.
Ma quando la storia ha funzionato sulla prima colazione di BBC le clip hanno avute suono, anche se i bambini hanno avuti respiratori nelle loro bocche.
“Anche se non crediamo che i visori siano fuorviati materialmente, non dovremmo aggiungere il suono a queste immagini,„ una dichiarazione di BBC detta.
Other broadcasters including Sky and ITN ran clips of the footage without audio.
A BBC spokesman said the corporation should have left the footage alone: “We received the film without sound and on reflection we should have kept it that way.”
The sound was removed from the story by the Six O’Clock News bulletin after it was commented upon by the hospital.
The admission follows a series of recent broadcasting scandals over authenticity.
