Ted Cruz Blames Donald Trump for Brussels

Trump said the United States can no longer afford NATO

Appearing on Fox News after the attack in Brussels, presidential candidate Ted Cruz blamed Trump’s stand on NATO for the tragic terror event.

“It is striking,” Cruz said, “on the day after Donald Trump called for America weakening NATO, withdrawing from NATO we see Brussels, where NATO is headquartered, the subject of a radical Islamic terrorist attack.”

The Texas Senator said abandoning NATO will “hand Putin a major victory” and also “hand ISIS a major victory.”

Trump said the United States can no longer afford NATO.

“NATO is costing us a fortune, and yes, we’re protecting Europe with NATO, but we’re spending a lot of money,” he argued.
