Seymour Hersh Succumbs To Disinformation

Paul Craig Roberts

(RINF) – Seymour Hersh has published a long account of the homicide of Osama bin Laden:

Hersh concludes that the Obama regime’s account of the killing of bin Laden is a total fabrication except for the fact that bin Laden was killed.

I do not believe Hersh’s story for three reasons. One reason is that bin Laden was suffering from disease that no one can survive for a decade. His death was widely reported in 2001. One reason is that even Hersh’s “true” account of “what really happened” is contradicted by eye witnesses and the initial Pakistani TV interviews of eye witnesses. One reason is that Hersh’s story is too convoluted for an assassination raid, a routine event. He exposes lies within lies, indecision within decision, payoffs within payoffs, and reports such a huge number of people with advance knowledge of the raid that it cannot possibly have been kept a secret.

I could add a fourth reason—the US government’s lack of credibility. Washington lies about everything. For example: Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction, Assad’s use of chemical weapons, Iranian nukes, Russian invasion of Ukraine. If, as Hersh reports, lies comprise 99% of Washington’s tale of the raid in Abbottabad, why believe that 1% of the story is true and that bin Laden was killed. It is difficult to have murder without a body. The only evidence that bin Laden was killed is the government’s claim.

In my opinion, Washington’s disinformation agencies have finally managed to deceive Seymour Hersh with a concocted “inside story” that saves Washington’s claim of having murdered bin Laden by proving that the US government is an extraordinary liar and violator of law.

Hersh’s story does prove that the US government is a liar, but it does not prove that a SEAL team murdered Osama bin Laden.

Totally agree 100% he died in 2001. The “raid” was propaganda for a quick boost for the government.

InDredd, NudeOn emperor 0 still runs a streak O’Nothin’ (including N0sama; No Way, NO HOW)!

He writes, in his own article, about the retired CIA operatives who remain operational under contract, but then bases all of his info on an unnamed retired CIA official… He writes about the BFF relationship between US and Pakistani military and secret services, and bases all the corraboration of this retired CIA official’s account on Pakistani military and secret service characters.

Not to mention that, even though he writes about how the seal team members were made to sign national security letters for non-disclosure, there is no mention of the many seal team members dying in a helicopter crash shortly after the raid.

I am having a hard time believing someone like Seymour Hersh has fallen for missing and disinfo. What does that say about his credibility?

Sad part— He stated that the killing of Bin Ladin helped Obama into 2nd term. BullSh’it. Normally both parties take turns on 8 year cycle–unless President goes against Joos(Poor Jimmy Carter)

also bush the elder cut off pissaels money for settlements he did not get a second term

People like Hersh and Chomsky used to be the gatekeepers for the alternative media, but with the rise of genuine alternative media on the internet, they’re seen more as last-ditch apologists. The litmus test is 9-11.

  • I’m suspicious of anyone (like Hersh) that doesn’t scream from the rooftops that 911 was an inside job. Hersh is most likely “controlled opposition” or “limited hangout” (a shill).

  • Agreed. Upon reading a few paragraphs into Hersh’s article I threw up my hands and stopped.

  • Carroll Price

Seymour Hersh makes a lot of money by serving as “controlled opposition”. In his many books, he states just enough facts to deceive a gullible public, but (unlike Paul Craig Roberts) never gets around to telling things as they really are.

  • mannymoe

Yep…911 is the litmus test…link tv nor democracy now will cover the 911 story….The AIA members will be voting wether to support a new investigation of 911 at the American Institute of Architects convention in Atlanta this month…that could be telling!

Most of what Hersh writes would also stand up if the “Bin Laden” at Abbottabad were a patsy – except the story that DNA was taken and tested. I would like more evidence of how this was achieved, by whom and
where the authenticated Bin Laden DNA was sourced. How was it that a sample was available for comparison? I think Hersh needs to lay out the details underpinning this crucial assertion.
