De grote Leugen van de Politiek van de Recessie: `Gedeeld Offer'

Elke keer een politicus of zakenlieden kunnen de besprekingen over de recessie, bijna in-synch-binnen, herhaalde mantra worden gehoord: ? Gedeeld offer, gelijkheid van offer, harde keuzen.? Mijn Oh. Er moeten zijn iets aan het, aangezien IEDEREEN schijnt om de uitdrukking in harmonie uit te braken. Zelfs hebben de uniebureaucraten de gedeelde offerkoorts gevangen, gebruikend het om hun leden in contractonderhandelingen te onderwerpen. Obama zelf heeft deze zodra-uitgestorven uitdrukking in de spil van zijn economiebeleid veranderd: „Wij, elke één van ons, zullen op bepaalde dingen moeten compromitteren wij geven om maar wat wij eenvoudig ons niet kunnen op dit ogenblik veroorloven.“ Obama heeft dit het redeneren gebruikt om de lonen van autoarbeiders te verminderen, terwijl ook het spreken over zogenaamd? betitelings programma's? als sociale voorzieningen, Gezondheidszorg voor bejaarden, en Medicaid. Wanneer gevraagd over hoe dit van toepassing op de 28 nieuwe helikopters was die voor het Witte Huis worden gepland? het kosten van $11.2 miljard? Obama gaf heldhaftig leidt tot de Amerikaanse mensen zeggen, die dat hij? kon zonder hen. doen? Eveneens, collectieve CEO? s wordt gevraagd om hun collectieve stralen op te geven, en zij maken ook moedige offers. De voorbeelden als deze worden dan getoond aan arbeiders, die om in de offers worden verteld te delen, sindsdien? dit zijn harde tijden.? De arbeider, echter, isn? t dat onmiddellijk op het idee wordt verkocht. Toevluchtsoord? t lonen en voordelen gedaald voor decennia, terwijl de werkbelasting is uitgegaan? Zijn deze niet offert? ? Nr? wij worden verteld? dit is een diepe recessie, en als u niet met het werk voor minder akkoord gaat, zal het bedrijf ontbreken en u uw baan. zult verliezen? Deze schriktactiek IS efficiënt. En de gesprekken als deze vinden helemaal over het land plaats in een poging om arbeiders in voorlegging te doen schrikken. Het fenomeen van gedeeld offer is even besmettelijk aan openbare arbeiders, die onmiddellijk relevant wegens de begrotingscrisissen die bijna elke staat beïnvloeden worden. De gouverneur van Oregon, in het voorbereidingen treffen om zijn voorstel van de anti-arbeidersbegroting te onthullen, kondigde eerst een loonsverlaging voor zich en duizenden staatsmanagers aan. De volgende stap, natuurlijk, vroeg openbare arbeiders om in de offers te delen die worden gemaakt. The difference between the two, however, is that the Governor and the bosses make significantly more than workers, and while the Governor might enjoy a bit less luxury in his life, the workers may have to forego daycare for their children, or paying the electric bill. The point is that workers need sacrifice nothing. The last “boom” of the economy was based not only on fantasy prices for homes, but the cheap price of labor. During the boom the working class resorted to ever-more debt to maintain their standard of living, while the rich got richer than anyone had ever dreamed possible. It is the rich and corporations who now need to sacrifice, and the rest of us who need to demand it. Taxes for the rich need to be raised substantially. Now! Otherwise, the wages and benefits of workers, not to mention benefits for the unemployed, elderly and disabled will go down instead. The solution is commonsense, but the corporate two-party system functions not on sense but on subservience to powerful interests. Naming these powerful interests and organizing around the demand that they pay for the recession is the task of the day.
