September 20th: Stop The War Coalition Demonstration in Manchester

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

What will British foreign secretary David Miliband say in his speech to Labour’s annual conference in Manchester? It’s all too predictable. ‘We’ are ‘winning’ in Iraq, making ‘progress’ in Afghanistan, defending ‘democracy’ in Georgia, confronting Iran to protect world ’security’ and waging endless war against ‘global terrorism’. ‘We’ stand “shoulder to shoulder” with George Bush and whoever his successor may be in following slavishly wherever US foreign policy takes ‘us’.

There will be no place in Miliband’s speech for the views of the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and anywhere else that the Bush wars have brought, or threaten to bring, mass slaughter and destruction. Only last weekend a mass demonstration of Iraqis took to the streets of Baghdad to call for all foreign troops to get out of Iraq, confirming country wide polls which show this to be the view of an overwhelming majority.

And David Miliband will not have a word to say about the large majorities in both Britain and the United States who have consistently opposed the warmongering carried out in their name and insisted that the US and British troops all be withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan.

David Miliband, Gordon Brown and the rest of the Labour government, who have so seamlessly adopted the war policies of Tony Blair, hope that the ever dutiful mainstream media will help delude people in this country into believing that ‘we’ are ‘winning’ and making ‘progress’ in our support for illegal invasions.

This is why Stop the War, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and the British Muslim Initiative are organising a demonstration at the Labour Party conference in Manchester on Saturday 20 September, to ensure that the voice of the anti-war majority that opposes the government’s warmongering is prominently represented.

Please publicise the details of the demonstration as widely as you can and join us in Manchester on 20 September.

Leaflets are available for downloading or from the Stop the War national office. Transport details for protestors travelling to Manchester from outside London are available on the Stop the war website or by calling 020 7278 6694.

I wholehearted support any anti-war stance. Diplomacy has to be given any chance possible. Regarding Iran, though, the clerical dictatorship has so far rejected all diplomatic approaches trying to stop it having the atomic bomb by every country and entity in the world including its closest allies, Russia ans Syria. Everyone knows the fanatics ruling Iran are torturing and terrorising the Iranian people to stay in power as well as supporting terrorist groups around the world. So if the clerics get the bomb, the security of the whole world will be threatened. Hence the only realistic approach to the question of Iranian fundamentalist tyrants and the right slogan regarding this situation is:
Stop the war against Iran; stop the terrorist regime in Iran!

Watch FOUX news a lot do we perhaps?

Did you know that Iran has democratic elections?

Did you know that Iran is perfectly permitted to have nuclear POWER plants under international law?

Did you know that America sold Iran its first Nuclear power plant?

Did you know that America gave Pakistan (A Muslim Dictatorship at the time) Nuclear weapons to aim at INDIA - whilst at the same time banning Iran from legally using Nuclear power?

Guess who is the real TERROR STATE? AMERICA is by a long way, the CIA Sponsor terrorists all over the world and have done for over 50 years.

If a fascist group allows you to choose from its various factions, can that be called elections? In Iran, no opposition party -left, right or centre - is allowed by the religious fascist regime ruling Iran to even mourn their members and supporters murdered by the rgime let alone stand elections. Therefore, anyone who argues that the ruling dictatorship represents the people there even in the slightest is either completely ignorant or has some kind of interest in keeping the regime in power there. That’s why the regime doesn’t accept free elections under UN supervision.

Maximus is right by saying that the CIA have gone against democracy all over the world for over 50 years. The US and UK conspired together and brought down the democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister, Dr Mosadegh, under the Shah by organising thugs in a coup-de-tat which eventually brought the ayatollahs to power as all democratic party leaders were either executed or imprisoned and tortured by the Shah’s secret police, SAVAK.

Furthermore, the US and European governments are helping the mullahs right now by putting the main Iranian democratic opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI - AKA Mojahedin-e Khalgh) on the list of terrorist organisations on the ayatollahs’ request and despite rulings by the highest courts in UK and Europe to delist them, they are still being demonised as terrorists. The UK ruling by the highest court of appeal actually forced the British Government appeasers of the ayatollahs to take that organisation off the list.

Presently, hundreds of MPs, lords and senators from all democratic parties in the West are pressing the US and European governments to deproscribe the group so it can organise the people towards ending the rule of terror.

Does Maximus want to live under the ayatollahs? I don’t. The mediaeval theocratic dictatorship is so corrupt that so as to keep in power it led to death hundreds of thousands of Iranians in its war against Iraq which also led to death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. The most so-called “moderate” leader in Iran, i.e. Khatami, was actually in charge of sending thousands of children over the minefields.

Furthermore, the regime has actually murdered or tortured to death tens of thousands of mainly Muslim Iranians including hundreds of children as young as 13 for their love of freedom, political, religious, personal and otherwise. Maximus, please have a look on the Amnesty International or any other human rights organisation’s website and feel ashamed at your support for the fascists ruling Iran.

This regime cannot even accept people basic personal freedoms especially women’s freedom to choose their own clothes and is incapable of being called a government as it cannot sort out the social and economic problems such as rampant inflation and massive unemployment and poverty.

The regime kept its nuclear programme secret for 18 years till the Iranian opposition revealed it and its true nature of weapons development to the world. The West and Russia recognise Iran’s right to have peaceful nuclear progamme and have offered it many insentives, even- shamefully- by keeping its main opposition on the list of terrorist organisations to allow full inspections. But the regime has rejected all concessions because it wants the bomb because it falsely believes it will guarantee its survival.

In a similar fashion to the way the people of Norway, France, etc, were helped to regain their freedom against Hitler, the Iranian nation also need support to get rid of this fanatical fascism. So for humanity’s sake and Iranian people’s freedom, we need to stop this sickening flirting with murdering fanatical thugs blackening the name of the great religion of Islam and the reputation of an ancient civilization and the beautiful and hospitable people of Iran. The regime is killing people all over the Middle East as well coalition troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and threatening the peace of the world with support for terrorists of all kinds and now speeding towards the nuclear bomb. So we should agree with Stanley when he says:

Stop the war against Iran; stop the terrorist regime in Iran!

We should also declare: Support the people of Iran to gain their freedom and democracy; that’s the only way to stop another bloody war in the Middle East.
