Atlantis! اطلانتيس! Lemuria! Shamballha! Shangri-La! SHANGRI - مدينة لوس انجلوس! The very names conjure up images of sunken cities or forgotten lands hidden in the impenetrable jungle or amongst mountain peaks somewhere beyond the edges of civilization. اسماء ناشد جدا حتى صور الغارقة المدن المنسيه او المخفيه في الاراضي اختراقها الغاب او بين قمم الجبال في مكان ما وراء حواف الحضارة. They also suggest ancient and powerful cultures and technologies long vanished from the world, remnants of which-if popular imagination is to be believed-may still lie slumbering in the caverns far beneath the earth. وتشير ايضا الى الثقافات القديمة والقويه والتكنولوجيات طويلة اختفت من العالم ، من مخلفات التي - اذا كان الخيال الشعبي هو ان يعتقد - ربما لا تزال ماثلة النوم في الكهوف الآن تحت الارض. Is there any truth in such beliefs? هل هناك أي حقيقة في هذه المعتقدات؟

Allied to the names of these ancient places are further stories of legendary sites-places like the Garden of Eden in Christian lore, Ygdrassil, the World-Tree of Viking myth or even Davy Jones’ Locker, recently made famous by the film series Pirates of the Caribbean. المتحالفه مع أسماء الأماكن القديمة وهذه هي مزيد من القصص الاسطوريه المواقع - اماكن مثل جنة عدن في المسيحيه العلم ، ygdrassil ، في العالم - شجرة الفايكنك اسطوره او حتى ديفي جونز 'خزانة ، الشهير الذي ادلى به مؤخرا الفيلم سلسلة من القراصنه منطقة البحر الكاريبي.

Popular films on the big screen such as The Lost World, Journey to the Centre of the Earth and even the more recent remake of King Kong, set on a forgotten island where a giant gorilla dwells, have speculated about what sort of environments these places might have. شعبية الافلام على الشاشه الكبيرة مثل خسر العالم ، ورحلة الى مركز الأرض ، وحتى الاكثر حداثة اعد صنع الملك كونغ ، وحددت على الجزيرة المنسيه حيث يسهب الغوريلا العملاقه ، وقد قام بالمضاربه عن أي نوع من البيئات هذه الاماكن قد لقد. In earlier times, those destinations were a goal that might be attained through adventure and daring. في اوقات سابقة ، كانت تلك الوجهات وهو هدف يمكن تحقيقه من خلال المغامره والجراه. In many ways, they also represented the last great challenge of Mankind. في نواح عديدة ، كما أنها تمثل تحديا كبيرا آخر للبشرية.
