Indymedia | Before turning to the article, it is worth noting that the issue’s Editorial makes similar allegations about Indymedia UK. | وقبل ان ننتقل الى المادة ، ومن الجدير بالذكر أن يجعل من مسألة التحرير في مزاعم مماثلة بشان indymedia المملكه المتحدة. “For many of us,” it starts, “a visit to Indymedia UK is a frustrating experience.” “Most exasperating,” it then goes on, “are the countless posts obsessed with the Israel-Palestine conflict, which are telling of some of the political viewpoints we are happy to associate with.” Countless?! During the 17 months since it was created in January 2007, the Palestine topic has had an average of less than one feature per month (0.8). وخلال 17 شهرا منذ انشائها في كانون الثاني / يناير 2007 ، وقد كان موضوع فلسطين في المتوسط أقل من خاصيه واحدة في الشهر (0.8). Although the editorial admits that the “conflict in the Middle East” is “one of the major atrocities of our time, as the lives of ordinary Palestinians are being destroyed by the bulldozers of a well-equipped army,” it claims that “the issues that are driving this conflict” are “nationalism, religion [and] imperialism.” So the Palestinian liberation struggle is merely motivated by nationalistic and/or religious issues? ورغم ان التحرير يعترف ان "الصراع في الشرق الاوسط" هي "واحدة من اهم الاعمال الوحشية التي وقعت في عصرنا ، حيث ان حياة الفلسطينيين العاديين ويجري تدمير من قبل جرافات جيد التجهيز الجيش" ، وهي تدعي ان "المسائل التي توجه لهذا الصراع "هي" القوميه ، والدين [و] الامبرياليه "، فما كان النضال من اجل التحرير الفلسطينية هو مجرد بدافع قومي و / أو المسائل الدينية؟ And the discriminatory and repressive Israeli policies are simply “imperialism”? التمييزيه والقمعيه والسياسات الاسرائيلية هي مجرد "امبرياليه"؟

“But to have a radical critique of those issues,” the piece continues, “we need to see beyond Israel=evil and Palestine=good.” While no one in Indymedia is advocating or endorsing such simplistic views, there a is big danger in equating the oppressor and the oppressed. Indeed, conspiracy theories take a lot of activists’ energy and could be ‘harmful’, in the sense that they paint the ‘movement’ in a bad/mad way (as if its image, without that, is so clean and shiny!). والواقع ان نظريات المءامره تأخذ الكثير من الناشطين والطاقة ويمكن ان تكون 'الضاره' ، بمعنى انهم يرسمون 'الحركة' فى سيئة / جنون الطريقة (كما لو كانت صورته ، وبدون ذلك ، وبذلك امع ونظيف و!) . But it is crucial to remember that, in face of the states’ and mainstream media’s relentless efforts to conceal the truth, people, and especially activists, often find themselves forced to contemplate, speculate and doubt what they are being sold, because they have lost, over the years, all faith in what those in power tell them to believe to justify their crimes. ولكن من الاهميه بمكان ان نتذكر انه ، في مواجهة من الدول وسائل الاعلام الرئيسية للجهود الدؤوبة لإخفاء الحقيقة ، الناس ، وبخاصه الناشطين ، وكثيرا ما تجد انفسهم مضطرين الى التفكير ، ويمكن التكهن بما شك ما تباع ، لأنها فقدوا ، على مر السنين ، والإيمان في كل ما هم في السلطة الى الاعتقاد ان يقول لهم لتبرير جرائمهم. Conspiracy theories are thus an ‘act of resistance’. نظريات المءامره وهكذا 'قانون للمقاومه'. To argue that ‘we’ do not really need them to act and that they would not add anything ‘we’ do not already know, is ignoring the sad reality that people usually do not act out of general moral criticisms; they often need something shocking and disturbing to get off their bums. القول بأن 'نحن' لا حقا في حاجة اليها للعمل وأنها لن تضيف شيئا 'نحن' لا نعلم بالفعل ، هو تجاهل الواقع المحزن ان الناس عادة لا القانون العام من الانتقادات الاخلاقيه ، بل وكثيرا ما تحتاج شيء مروعه ومقلقه للحصول على خطوطها المتشردون.

It is important to stress here that Indymedia does reject all racially based conspiracy theories (eg ‘Jews control the world’, ‘Jews or Arabs did 9/11′ and the like). ومن المهم أن نؤكد هنا انه لا indymedia رفض جميع نظريات المءامره عنصرية (مثل 'اليهود السيطرة على العالم' ، 'اليهود او العرب لم 9 / 11' وما شابه ذلك). Unprofessional غير محترف

Turning to the article itself, the first thing one notices is its provocative and misleading title. وانتقل الى المادة نفسها ، فان اول شيء واحد هو الاشعارات الاستفزازيه وتضليل عنوان. It employs the largely Western mainstream media-constructed image of Hamas as a terrorist organisation and suggests that Indymedia blindly supports it. وهو يستخدم الى حد كبير - وسائط الاعلام الغربية التي شيدت صورة حماس منظمة ارهابية ، وتقترح ان indymedia انها تؤيد بشكل اعمى. The second bit of the title declares, without any evidence throughout the article, that Indymedia is “losing support” and promises its readers of explaining the reason, which does not really happen. بت الثاني من عنوان تعلن ، من دون اي دليل في جميع انحاء المادة ، ان indymedia هو "فقدان الدعم" وعود قرائها شرح السبب ، الذي لا يحدث في الواقع.

“Go Hamas, Go!!!” "حماس اذهب ، اذهب!" was, in fact, the title of a comment on an article published on Indymedia UK [ هو في الواقع عنوان وتعليقا على مقالة نشرت في المملكه المتحدة indymedia] 2 ] about the ‘darkness scenes’ (candle-lit meetings) staged by the Hamas-led Palestinian government to highlight the suffering of Gazans due to the siege and sanctions imposed by Israel earlier this year. The comment basically says that it is legitimate for Hamas to “utilise [Israel’s] war crime as a backdrop for a photoshoot.” التعليق اساسا تقول انها مشروعة لحركة حماس الى "الاستفادة من [اسرائيل] جريمه من جرائم الحرب بوصفها خلفية لphotoshoot".

The SHIFT article starts with a quote by Naomi Klein that goes, “Every time I log on to activist news sites like Indymedia.org which practise ‘open publishing’, I am confronted with a string of Jewish conspiracy theories about September 11 and excerpts from the Protocol of the Elders of Zion.” While Klein is not actually talking about Indymedia UK but the global Indymedia site, which has far less and less active volunteers and moderators, as well as Open Publishing in general, it is worth noting that the quote is from an المادة التحول يبدأ مع اقتباس من جانب نعومي كلاين الذي يذهب ، "في كل مرة أدخل الى الناشطين في مواقع الأخبار مثل indymedia.org التي تمارس مفتوحة النشر' ، مع انني واجهت سلسلة من نظريات المءامره اليهودية حوالى 11 ايلول / سبتمبر ومقتطفات من بروتوكول حكماء صهيون ". كلاين وبينما هو في الواقع لا نتحدث عن indymedia المملكه المتحدة ولكن indymedia الموقع العالمي ، الذي اقل بكثير واقل نشاطا والمتطوعين والمشرفين ، وكذلك نشر في العام المفتوح ، وجدير بالذكر ان الاقتباس من هو article المادة published in The Guardian back in 2002 [ ونشرت الغارديان في العودة في عام 2002] 3 ]. The first parts of the SHIFT article ‘borrow’ extensively from an Indymedia UK الأجزاء الأولى من المادة التحول 'الاقتراض' من indymedia على نطاق واسع في المملكه المتحدة feature ميزة [ 4 ] on the ‘Atzmon-Greenstein affair’, which the article discusses in some detail drawing on that feature. Misleading تضليل

Without any warrant or hesitation, the author declares from the beginning that “in the past few months the site Indymedia.org.uk has lost support from many activists for letting anti-Semitic posts go unchallenged.” Not only does the author not cite any evidence that Indymedia UK has “lost support”, s/he also claims, without giving any examples, that “anti-Semitic posts” went “unchallenged”. دون اي امر قضائي او تردد ، ويعلن المؤلف منذ البداية انه "فى الاشهر القليلة الماضية الموقع indymedia.org.uk فقدت الدعم من العديد من الناشطين في السماح للالمعاديه للسامية وظيفة تذهب دون رادع." فالامر لا يقتصر على عدم إيراد أية المؤلف indymedia دليل على ان المملكه المتحدة قد "فقدت الدعم" ، ق / ويدعى ايضا ، دون ان يعطي امثلة ، ان "المعاديه للسامية وظائف" وتابع "دون منازع".

The average for hidden posts out of all posts published with the Palestine topic ticked is 12% (95 out of 811 for the period Feb 2007-Apr 2008). متوسط خفية وظيفة من اصل جميع الوظائف المنشوره مع الموضوع مدقوق فلسطين هو 12 ٪ (95 من اصل 811 للفترة فبراير 2007 - ابريل 2008). This is more or less the same as with other topics, such as Iraq (also 12%), and is not very far from the UK hiding average (19%), taking into account that a lot of spammers (mere links, commercial ads, announcements etc.) usually use the UK publish form and do not always tick topics. وهذا هو اكثر او اقل على النحو نفسه مع مواضيع اخرى ، مثل العراق (ايضا 12 ٪) ، وليس بعيدا جدا عن المملكه المتحدة يختبئ في المتوسط (19 ٪) ، مع الاخذ في الاعتبار ان الكثير من Spammers (مجرد وصلات ، والإعلانات التجارية ، والاعلانات الخ) وعادة ما تستخدم في المملكه المتحدة ونشر صورة ليست دائما علامة المواضيع.

The only instance the article mentions is Gilad Atzmon’s controversial article “Saying NO to the Hunters of Goliath”, which generated a lot of discussion and disagreement exactly because moderators could not agree that it was anti-Semitic. المثال الوحيد الذي ذكر في المادة gilad atzmon للجدل المادة "، وقال لا لصيادين من goliath" ، التي ولدت الكثير من النقاش والخلاف بالضبط لأن المشرفين لا يستطيع ان يوافق على أنه معاد للسامية.

The article then continues with some distortion and/or misrepresentation of what happened: “At the height of the affair, three active Indymedia moderators resigned from the collective [they were, in fact, two; the third had nothing to do with this affair] giving many readers [which readers?] the impression that the obsession [what obsession?] with the Palestine-Israel conflict had gained the upper hand [how exactly? ثم تواصل هذه المادة مع بعض التشويه و / أو تحريف ما حدث : "في ذروه الامر ، ثلاثة النشطه indymedia استقال من المشرفين الجماعية [كانوا ، في الواقع ، وهما ؛ الثالثة ليست له علاقة مع هذه القضية] منح العديد من القراء [التي القراء؟] الانطباع بأن هاجس [هاجس ما؟] مع الصراع بين فلسطين واسرائيل قد اليد الطولى [كيف بالضبط؟ Wasn’t the issue anti-Semitism?].” لم تكن مسألة معاداه الساميه؟]. As a retraction, perhaps, the author then admits that “Indymedia.org.uk has been the target for anti-Semitic posts before and many have been hidden straight away with reference to the guidelines.” However, s/he follows that with another misrepresentation: “In this latest affair however the guidelines did not seem conclusive enough to judge what is anti-Semitism and what isn’t.” Again, the author fails to grasp the fact that the racism guideline already covers anti-Semitism but the issue here was that not all moderators agreed that the article was anti-Semitic, and hence racist. كما ان تراجع احد ، ربما ، ثم يعترف المؤلف ان "indymedia.org.uk كان هدفا لالمعاديه للسامية والعديد من الوظائف المعروضة تم اخفاء فورا مع الاشارة الى المبادئ التوجيهيه" ، ولكن ق / وقال انه يترتب على ذلك ان آخر الادعاء الكاذب : "في هذا الشأن احدث المبادئ التوجيهيه ومع ذلك لا يبدو قاطعا بما يكفي للحكم على ما هو ومعاداه الساميه وليس ما هو." ومرة أخرى ، فإن المؤلف لا يدرك حقيقة ان المبدأ التوجيهي تغطي فعلا العنصريه ومعاداه الساميه ولكن المساله هنا هي ان جميع المشرفين لا يوافق على أن هذه المادة هي معاديه للسامية ، وبالتالي العنصريه.

The article then dedicates a 6-paragraph section to discuss “The Atzmon Affair”. ثم يخصص المادة 6 الفقره الباب لمناقشة "atzmon الشأن". The ’summary’, however, is clearly biased and misrepresenting (it is worth comparing it with the Indymedia feature mentioned above). In the period between 14 Feb and 31 Mar 2008, there were 220 posts on Israel-Palestine. في الفترة ما بين 14 فبراير و 31 مارس 2008 ، كانت هناك 220 وظيفة على اسرائيل - فلسطين. Some 65 appear to come from a persistent disinformation troll and were mostly hidden; another 30 were posted by a user who posts a lot of Israle-Palestine material to Indymedia sites worldwide, usually reposts of corporate coverage with commentary; and 13 were complaints about moderation, which should take place on the moderation list. حوالى 65 يأتيك من استمرار التضليل بالشص وكانت في معظمها خفية ؛ 30 شخصا آخر على الشبكه من قبل المستخدم من وظائف الكثير من المواد israle فلسطين - لindymedia المواقع فى جميع انحاء العالم ، وعادة ما reposts الشركات التعليق والتغطيه ، وكان هناك 13 شكوى من الاعتدال ، على ان تعقد هذه القائمة على الاعتدال. As to the two quotes above (still without any referencing or context), the first is apparently from an اما بالنسبة الى اثنين من الاقتباسات اعلاه (والذي ما زال دون اي مراجع او السياق) ، هو أول ما يبدو من article المادة [ 6 ] about the Israeli policy in Gaza, which the author says is “as evil as it is self-defeating”. [عن السياسة الاسرائىلية في غزة ، التي يقول صاحب البلاغ هو "الشر كما هو هزيمة ذاتية". The article is reposted from a blog called هذه المادة هو مرسل ثانية من دعا بلوق “The Vineyard of the Saker” "مزرعه العنب من الصقر" [ 7 ] by someone describing him/herself as “a ‘legal alien’ currently living in the Imperial Homeland.” The context within which the quote appears is this: “The main, over-arching, issue Israel, as a self-described “Jewish state”, is facing today is not terrorism or Iranian nukes but demographics. The second quote is from a short الاقتباس الثاني من قصيرة comment التعليق [ 8 ] on an article about the UN condemning the Israeli collective punishment of Gaza (the brutal siege and sanctions). [على مقال عن الامم المتحدة ادانة العقاب الجماعي الاسرائيلية من غزة (الوحشي والحصار والعقوبات). The comment says that “the situation of the Palestinians in Gaza (and even in the West Bank) is little different than the situation of the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto during WWII.” Now this might be an exaggeration and it is not really funny seeing people ‘competing for victimhood’, but ‘monopolising victimhood’ the way Zionists do, for example, is not funny either (see the following comments on the same thread). التعليق الذي يقول "ان الوضع للفلسطينيين في غزة (وحتى في الضفة الغربية) هي مختلفة قليلا من حالة اليهود في غيتو وارسو أثناء wwii." الان وقد يكون هذا من قبيل المبالغه ، وليس من رؤية مضحك حقا الشعب 'في المنافسة على الضحيه ،' ، ولكن 'احتكار الضحيه ،' الطريق الصهاينة القيام ، على سبيل المثال ، ليس مضحكا اما (انظر التعليقات التالية على نفس الخيط).

That month (January 2008), the Palestine topic saw 51 posts, slightly above the average (45). في ذلك الشهر (كانون الثاني / يناير 2008) ، وقد شهدت فلسطين في الموضوع 51 وظيفة ، وفوق المتوسط بقليل (45). The second ‘worrying’ quote الثانية 'القلق' اقتباس (”Long live Palestine”) ( "عاشت فلسطين") [ 9 ] seems to come from a ‘Western’ activist and merely concludes with that slogan (almost like a signature) after congratulating the author of a report (incidentally about an Atzmon event in Brighton) on the “great summing up of the background to this latest debacle in Greenstein’s vicious campaign.” [ويبدو ان تأتي من 'الغربية' وناشط ويختتم ان مجرد شعار (تقريبا مثل التوقيع) وبعد التهنئة واضع التقرير (وبالمناسبه atzmon عن الحدث في برايتون) على "كبيرة وتلخيصا للمعلومات الاساسية لهذا الاخير كارثه في greenstein للحملة الشرسه ".

The article further claims that “many” of these comments “were posted [by] agitators based in Canada and the US, who have recognised Indymedia UK’s willingness to host their posts.” Besides asking the author how did s/he got to know this, given the near-total anonymity of posters on Indymedia, one cannot help wondering what s/he understands from Open Publishing? وتنص المادة كذلك تدعي ان "العديد" من هذه التعليقات "وتم نشر [] القائم على مثيري الشغب في كندا والولايات المتحدة ، قد اعترف indymedia من المملكه المتحدة على استعداد لاستضافة وظائفهم." بالاضافة الى طلب مقدم البلاغ كيف ق / وحصل على نعرف ذلك ، ونظرا لقرب عدم ذكر اسمه - مجموعة من الملصقات عن indymedia ، لا يسع المرء يتساءل ما هي ق / وقال انه يفهم من فتح النشر؟

“‘Nazimedia’?”? "' Nazimedia '؟"؟

In fact, the author does appear to understand that well but seems to have other things in mind. وفي الواقع ، فإن المؤلف لا يبدو ان يفهم بشكل جيد ولكن ما يبدو الى امور اخرى في الاعتبار. But before we go into that, it is worth mentioning that the total number of Palestine-related features during the 17 months since the topic was created is 15 out of 134 UK startpage features or, more accurately, out of 324 UK and regional features. ولكن قبل ان نذهب الى ذلك ، ومما هو جدير بالذكر ان العدد الاجمالي للميزات فلسطين ذات الصلة خلال 17 شهرا منذ أن تم انشاء هذا الموضوع هو 15 من اصل 134 في المملكه المتحدة startpage ميزات ، او بعباره أدق ، من اصل 324 في المملكه المتحدة والاقليمية المميزه. The full paragraph where this is explained in the feature reads: “On February 29th, the Israeli deputy Defense Minister provoked outrage after threatening Palestinians with a “holocaust”. الفقره الكاملة التي يكون فيها ذلك في شرح هذه الميزه ما يلي : "في شباط / فبراير 29th ، نائب وزير الدفاع الاسرائيلي للاستفزاز من الغضب بعد تهديد الفلسطينيين مع" المحرقة ". Matan Vilnai told the Israeli army radio that “the more [rocket] fire intensifies and the rockets reach a longer range, they [the Palestinians] will bring upon themselves a bigger holocaust because we will use all our might to defend ourselves.” The same twisted logic is used by the far-right and Holocaust deniers to blame Jewish people for the Nazi Holocaust.” Vilnai المتن وقال لاذاعة الجيش الاسرائيلي ان "اكثر [الصاروخ] يكثف اطلاق النار والتوصل الى صواريخ ابعد مدى ، [الفلسطينيين] ستجلب على نفسها أكبر محرقه لاننا سوف يمكن استخدام جميع للدفاع عن انفسنا." نفسه المنطق الملتويه التي يستخدمها اليمين المتطرف والمحرقة الناكرون القاء اللوم على الشعب اليهودي عن المحرقة النازية ".

The article (intentionally?) misrepresents both what happened in Gaza and the feature itself. المادة (عمدا؟) يحرف كل ما حدث في غزة وميزة في حد ذاته. The feature, it claims, “argued that Israel’s deadly military raids aimed at some Hamas officials and Gaza gunmen amounted to plans to unleash a ‘Holocaust’ and a ‘full-scale war’ on Palestine.” It also does not support with any evidence its claim that the feature was published “despite obvious discontent amongst many Indymedia users.” The feature was هذه الميزه ، وهي تدعي ان "القول ان اسرائيل القاتل غارات عسكرية تستهدف بعض المسؤولين في حركة حماس ومسلحين غزة بلغت خطط ليطلق العنان ل' المحرقة 'و' حرب شاملة 'على فلسطين" كما انه لا يدعم مع اي دليل على ادعائه بأن الميزه وقد نشرت "وعلى الرغم من الاستياء واضحا بين indymedia العديد من المستخدمين." الميزه كان proposed مقترح on 4 March 2008 [ وفي 4 اذار / مارس 2008] 11 ] and not a single objection or reservation was posted to the imc-uk-features list, so it was published the following day after the usual 24 hours waiting period. The suggestion in the subtitle that Indymedia has become or is becoming “Nazimedia” is cheap and defamatory, to say the least. الاقتراح الوارد في العنوان الفرعي ان indymedia اصبحت أو اصبح "nazimedia" رخيصة وتشهيريه ، على اقل تقدير. To put that word in quotation marks and follow it with a question mark does not really spare the author or editors the responsibility, especially that none of the comments, showing or hidden, on that particular feature used the word “Nazimedia”, although it has been used by some لوضع تلك الكلمه بين علامتي تنصيص ويليه مع علامة استفهام لا حقا تجنيب المؤلف المحررين او مسؤولية ، لا سيما ان ايا من التعليقات ، والتي تبين او خفية ، على ان سمة خاصة استخدمت كلمة "nazimedia" ، على الرغم من أنها واستخدمت من قبل بعض trolls المتصيدون in the past [ في الماضي [ 12 ]. [. And despite ‘assuring’ readers that “Indymedia Uk is not run by a collective of anti-Semites”, the article further claims that the collective has tried to “redefine the Holocaust” and that comments supporting that “remained on the newswire”, while “all complaints were hidden within minutes.” وعلى الرغم من 'ضمان' القراء ان "المملكه المتحدة ليست indymedia التي تديرها جماعيه الالغام الارضيه المضاده للسامية" ، وتنص المادة كذلك على ان المطالبات الجماعية ولقد حاول "اعادة تحديد المحرقة" ان التعليقات ودعم ذلك "لا تزال على وكالة الانباء" ، في حين ان "جميع الشكاوى التي كانت مخباه في غضون دقائق."

It is also worth noting that most of these allegations/accusations were posted by well known trolls/disinfo agents who get hidden straight away all the time. ومن الجدير بالذكر ايضا ان معظم هذه المزاعم / الاتهامات مرسلة من المعروف جيدا المتصيدون / disinfo من الحصول على وكلاء خفية على الفور في كل وقت. Yes, really, what is anti-Semitism? نعم ، حقا ، ما هي معاداه الساميه؟

Towards the end of the article, the author contends that there is “nothing new” about the allegations against Indymedia admins of “being blind to anti-Semitrism.” S/he further concludes that “the Indymedia UK collective is unlikely to agree whether Atzmon or Latuff are anti-semitic” and that “in many ways it would be a futile endeavour.” More important, s/he continues, “is the question why controversial and provocative posts that compare Israeli policies to those of Nazi Germany find their way onto Indymedia newswires in the first place” and “what attracts anti-semites to the website?” وقرب نهاية هذه المادة ، صاحب البلاغ ان هناك "شيئا جديدا" حول الادعاءات الموجهة ضد indymedia admins ب "الاعمى لمكافحة semitrism." اس / كما يخلص الى أن "المملكه المتحدة indymedia الجماعي هو ما اذا كان من غير المحتمل ان توافق atzmon latuff او هي معاديه للسامية "وانه" في كثير من الطرق وسيكون من غير المجدي المسعى. Where did Indymedia UK do that other than some anti-Semitic posts that get “immediately hidden or deleted”, in the author’s own words. اين indymedia المملكه المتحدة ان تفعل عدا عن بعض المعاديه للسامية ان احصل على وظيفة "خفية او حذفها على الفور" ، في عبارة صاحب البلاغ.

Perhaps the author of the article, along with the SHIFT editors, need to sit down (after ولعل كاتب المقال ، الى جانب التحول المحررين ، والحاجة الى الجلوس (بعد publicising their magazine on Indymedia! التعريف على المجله حول indymedia! [ 13 ]) and reread the ‘Holocaust’ and Atzmon features carefully without prejugements and hasty accusations. [) ونعيد قراءة 'المحرقة' وatzmon ميزات prejugements بعناية ودون إتهامات متسرعه. Or better even, post their complaints to the appropriate lists and join the collective discussions about what is anti-Semitism and what is Zionism and how to deal with them. او حتى افضل ، بعد شكاواهم الى قوائم المناسب والانضمام الى المناقشات الجماعية بين ما هو ومعاداه الساميه والصهيونية ما هي وكيفية التعامل معها.
