Boycott these companies - they support human rights violations

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

foobar | Here is the link to the sponsors for this year’s Olympic Games in Beijing. As I wrote before, if freedom and human rights mean anything to us, we owe it ourselves and to those who are suffering from censorship and oppression to do something - anything! - about it.

The one thing where it hurts these days is always the money. The games were given to China despite it’s terrible human rights record purely for financial reasons. China gets away with what it does, because we let it - purely for financial reasons.

Thus, the one action we can take that will be noticed is to show our discontent with our wallets. Boycott Chinese products, and the sponsors of these games, who with their financial support and their good names end up supporting the regime in China.

Main sponsors with products in our markets:

  • Coca Cola
  • GE
  • Johnson&Johnson
  • Kodak
  • Lenovo
  • VW
  • Manulife
  • McDonalds
  • Adidas
  • Omega
  • Panasonic
  • Samsung
  • Visa
  • UPS
  • Haier
  • Budweiser

Boycotting the sponsors hopefully will send a message that this kind of support cannot be tolerated.

    Jasone,

But now you know that the companies you support are hacking away at your freedome. (If we all are not free, then no one is free)

Today they hack at someone else right?

But tomorow, who do you think they will attack? (its started already)

Don’t go OTT, but put it on your RADAR old chap.

Do what you can when you can, the next time you buy you will now be more aware of what is really going on, all thanks to this news item from the excellent RINF.COM.

I rarely use any of these products, but now I know I will be buying better quality from other producers.

I use to work for GE building computers including lap tops, I did not like the company then and now my intuition has been confirmed.

They rip customers off, by puting old stock items into new computers. We often had to load specially writen programs ao that old stock could function in new systems.

I repeat, GE are Crooks, they rip off their customers by putting low grade componants in to what the public suspects are high grade products.

Whats in your computer? or lap top?

If its GE then I would say suspect low quality.

Bummer, I was sold on buying a panasonic camcorder, do not know their rights violations, but criminals always hide their child slave labor, everything some companies do is `criminal, criminals never tell you their business, most of them disrespect women and children, will research panasonic more, but let the buyer beware: Many of these companies spend more on advertising, and many of them will never pay their respects for the men and women and children that they have worked to death. It is happening in america, I could write a book about all of my friends who have given their health, their lives, for the rich corporations that gave them a paycheck sometimes. Dan Williams

    Oh man you’re so clueless…
Why don’t you boycott any company in US then? US is no more liberal than China, and your media is much more politically influenced.

Just remember “embedded journalism” and the rest of US of A’s great inventions.

Not to mention how you “liberation” of Middle East brought only pain and suffering to the world.

Go eat your Burger King, drown yourself in Pepsi and drive General Motors car - I bet you will feel a lot better ;)

You suck. Take a time for your family and let chinese do their jobs.
They have no colonies or military bases in rest of the world. They have disciplin and they are good.
    Look at yourself

You want to boycott something? Type “boycott” in your favorite search engine and you’ll find a lot more. They all exist because of us, and our “needs”.

So, you could start using your brain, go vegetarian, think about your real needs, clear your mind and body, start listening your heart, stop chasing the temporary and try to find something eternal…

    Or, follow the crowd.

    To take real action,
move to Hawaii or some other remote island
find land and start your own sustainable farm
buy local, or just go pick your breakfast
and you’ll never need any of this shit again.
