New York Times نيويورك تايمز | Congress is finally moving to shut one of the more egregious forms of Iraq war profiteering: defense contractors using offshore shell companies to avoid paying their fair share of payroll taxes. | الكونغرس تتحرك أخيرا إلى اغلاق واحدة من أكثر أشكال فظيعه لاستغلال الحرب الأمريكية فى العراق : الدفاع المقاولين باستخدام شركات شل في الخارج لتجنب دفع نصيبها العادل من الضرائب على المرتبات. The practice is widespread and Congressional investigators have been dispatched to one of the prime tax refuges, the Cayman Islands, to seek a firsthand estimate of how much the Treasury is being shorted. هذه الممارسه على نطاق واسع في الكونغرس والمحققين قد ارسلت الى رئيس الوزراء واحد من الملاجئ الضريبيه ، وجزر كايمان ، من اجل السعي بصورة مباشرة على تقدير مدى الخزانة ويجري shorted.
No one will be surprised to hear that one of the suspected prime offenders is KBR, the Texas-based defense contractor, formerly a part of the Halliburton conglomerate allied with Vice President Dick Cheney. ان احدا لن تفاجا ان نسمع ان احدا من المجرمين المشتبه فيهم رئيس الحكومة هو kbr ، تكساس على أساس الدفاع عن المقاول ، التي كانت سابقا جزءا من تكتل هاليبرتون متحالفه مع نائب الرئيس ديك تشيني. According to a report in The Boston Globe, KBR, which has landed billions in Iraq contracts, has used two Cayman shell companies to avoid paying hundreds of millions in payroll, Medicare and unemployment taxes. ووفقا لتقرير في بوسطن غلوب ، kbr ، التي هبطت عقود المليارات في العراق ، وقد استخدمت اثنين كايمان شركات شل لتجنب دفع مئات الملايين في كشوف المرتبات ، والرعايه الطبية والضرائب والبطاله.

The Senate must quickly follow suit and not buy the contractors’ line that listing American workers at offshore companies is a cost saving passed on patriotically to the war effort. مجلس الشيوخ بسرعة ويجب ان تحذو حذوه وإلا تشتري المقاولين ان ادراج اسم الخط الامريكى العاملين في الشركات الخارجية هو التوفير في التكاليف الذي صدر في بوطنيه الى المجهود الحربي. No less insulting, the Cayman dodge has been blocking Americans from the protection of labor and anti-discrimination laws. ولا يقل عن اهانة ، وجزر كايمان دودج تم تجميد حمايه الاميركيين من العمل والقوانين المناهضه للتمييز.
The House has taken on another shamefully common abuse: voting to deny future government contracts to any company that fails to pay its corporate taxes, including an estimated 25,000 defense contractors keeping billions due the Treasury. وقد اتخذت منزل آخر على تعاطي مخجله المشتركة : التصويت لحرمان الحكومة المقبلة عقود لأية شركة ان يفشل فى دفع ما عليها من الضرائب المفروضة على الشركات ، بما يقدر ب 25000 المقاولين الدفاع حفظ المليارات بسبب الخزانة. The Senate should approve that legislation as well. وينبغي ان يوافق مجلس الشيوخ على ان التشريع ايضا.
Companies enriched by taxpayers in the war boom should not be able to compound their profits by not paying their fair share of taxes. شركات اثري دافعي الضرائب في الحرب الازدهار وينبغي ان لا تكون قادرة على مجمع ارباحها من خلال عدم دفع نصيبها العادل من الضرائب. Congress must do far more to bring them to a full accounting. الكونغرس يجب ان تفعل اكثر بكثير من أجل تقديمهم إلى بيان كامل.
