I am looking to build a ‘zero running cost, zero upkeep’ shelter for my retirement. It will also consume ‘zero’ oil or oil products to operate. I will not have the elaborate American Movie star lifestyle in this home, I only hope to keep my wrinkled old ass out of the cold and fed enough to survive. With the DOW average breaking 10,000 on a downward swing today and hardly a whimper about it on CNN, I realize that it will take a massive depression to move the average American consumer to my ‘Zen’ point, and it is upon us! I feel sorry for the poor bastards, they may not be able to make the adjustment, having been spoiled by excesses over generations, but I hardly see the Chinese or Indians rushing to their aid and showering them with Corvettes and steak dinners! I doubt if the American Uber-rich even care, and the folks in Dubai don’t even realize! Poor dumb Yankee, the rich have done your ass again, but this time unlike Iraq, the money was already spent and horded away before you even knew, poor sorry bastards, I feel for you!our prayers to you from Canada, socialists maybe, but truly free of your problems!

Could someone please have a word in the ear of those filthy rich Arabs on behalf of the rest of the world to stop pushing up the price of oil. Someone should get them out of their plush palaces and get a taste of the real world.

You realize, of course, that even if oil production were increased that we’re at max capacity in our refineries, meaning the supply of gasoline wouldn’t increase?

Also, that oil is traded as a comodity, and the main reason for the high price per barrel can be tied to that and to the weak dollar (oil is traded against the US dollar).
