L'Irak a décommandé le permis de la firme en valeurs mobilières privée, Blackwater Etats-Unis, après qu'il ait été impliqué dans un combat d'armes à feu dans lequel au moins huit civils sont morts. The results lend weight to a 2006 survey of Iraqi households published by the Lancet, which suggested that about 655,000 Iraqi deaths were “a consequence of the war”.
