UPDATE: Russian TV did a piece on this on July 3rd:

Their reporter wasn’t able to find any military explanation for why this inconsequential village had been bombed. But she didn’t consider the possible explanation that maybe it had been done purely in order to terrorize the residents of southeastern Ukraine, to help, yet again, to communicate to them that no matter where they lived in that region, they could be bombed, and that the people in these areas, areas of Ukraine that had voted overwhelmingly for the President who had been overthrown in the February coup, would have to find refuge in Russia, because they certainly weren’t going to find any refuge in Ukraine. Such ethnic cleansing then becomes a tactic of “democratic” politics: to remove people who vote for candidates that the regime opposes. It’s terrorism for a “democratic” political purpose; it’s a new form of fascist “democracy.”
