Numerous investigations have found that US intelligence agencies were dead wrong about Iraq’s supposed Weapons of Mass Destruction and Saddam Hussein’s alleged links to al-Qaeda. وقد وجدت العديد من التحقيقات ان وكالات الاستخبارات الامريكية قد لقوا حتفهم خاطءه عن iraqâ € ™ ق المفترض لاسلحه الدمار الشامل وصدام husseinâ € ™ ق صلات مزعومه لتنظيم القاعده.

A recent Senate report dealt a major blow to the Bush administration as it showed that top US intelligence experts predicted before the 2003 invasion that al-Qaeda could exploit any US military action in Iraq as an opportunity to extend its sway in the region and that Iran would try to shape a post-war Iraq. مجلس الشيوخ مؤخرا وتناول التقرير ضربة كبرى لإدارة بوش حيث اظهرت ان اعلى تنبأ خبراء الاستخبارات الاميركية قبل الغزو عام 2003 ان القاعده يمكن استغلال اى عمل عسكرى امريكى فى العراق كفرصه لتوسيع نطاق السيطرة في المنطقة وان ايران سيحاول تشكيل عراق ما بعد الحرب.

The declassified document, which was distributed to scores of White House, national security, diplomatic and congressional officials, is the latest chapter in the Intelligence Committee’s ongoing investigation into the pre-war Iraq intelligence which reviews assessments from a number of agencies, with special focus on two January 2003 papers from the National Intelligence Council: “Regional Consequences of Regime Change in Iraq” and “Principal Challenges in Post-Saddam Iraq.” وقد ازيلت عنها الوثيقة ، التي وزعت على عشرات من البيت الابيض ، والأمن القومي ، والدبلوماسية والمسؤولين في الكونغرس ، هو الفصل الاخير في لجنة الاستخبارات التابعة الجاري التحقيق في ما قبل حرب العراق المخابرات الذي يستعرض تقييمات من عدد من الوكالات ، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على اثنين من كانون الثاني / يناير 2003 ورقات من المجلس الوطني للاستخبارات :  € œregional عواقب تغيير النظام في العراق "و € œprincipal التحديات فى عراق ما بعد صدام."

According to the report, the Bush administration was warned in January 2003 that al-Qaeda “probably would try to exploit any post-war transition in Iraq by replicating the tactics it has used in Afghanistan during the past year to mount hit-and-run operations against US personnel.” It also said the risk of terror attacks in Iraq would increase after the invasion and slow over the next three to five years. ووفقا للتقرير ، فان ادارة بوش كانت حذرت في كانون الثاني / يناير 2003 ان القاعده "ربما سيحاول استغلال اي الانتقال في مرحلة ما بعد الحرب فى العراق من جانب تكرار تكتيكات فقد استخدمت فى افغانستان خلال العام الماضى الى جبل لضرب وهروب العمليات الاميركية ضد الافراد. "وقالت ايضا خطر وقوع هجمات ارهابية فى العراق من شأنه ان يزيد بعد الغزو وبطيءه على مدى السنوات الثلاث او الخمس القادمة. However, the State Department recently found that violence rose sharply in the war-torn country last year. بيد ان وزارة الخارجية الاميركية ان اعمال العنف التي عثر عليها مؤخرا ارتفاعا حادا فى البلاد التى مزقتها الحرب فى العام الماضى.

The analysts also warned that Iraq’s neighbours would struggle for influence and that “some elements in the Iranian government could decide to try to counter aggressively the US presence in Iraq.” The less Tehran felt threatened by US actions, they said, “the better the chance that they could cooperate in the post-war period.” وحذر المحللون ايضا ان iraqâ € ™ ق الجيران سوف النضال من اجل النفوذ و € œsome ان عناصر في الحكومة الايرانيه يمكن ان يقرر في محاولة للتصدي بحزم الوجود الامريكى فى العراق. "اقل طهران شعرت بالتهديد من جانب الولايات المتحدة الاجراءات ، وقالوا ،  € œthe افضل فرصة يمكنها ان تتعاون في فترة ما بعد الحرب. "

Among other conclusions, the analysts warned that: ومن بين الاستنتاجات الأخرى ، وحذر المحللون أن :

• There is a “significant chance that domestic groups (in Iraq) would engage in violent conflict with each other.” ثمة "فرصة كبيرة ان الجماعات المحلية (في العراق) من شأنه ان الدخول في صراع عنيف مع بعضها البعض."
• Establishing a stable democracy in Iraq would be a “long, difficult and probably turbulent process.” اقامة ديمقراطيه مستقرة في العراق سيكون  € œlong ، من الصعب وربما عملية عاصفه. "
• Post-war Iraq would face significant economic challenges, having few resources beyond oil. عراق ما بعد الحرب سوف تواجه تحديات اقتصادية كبيرة ، وبعد ان يتجاوز بضعة موارد النفط.
• Military action to destroy Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction wouldn’t prevent other countries from giving up such programs. العمل العسكري لتدمير iraqâ € ™ ق اسلحه الدمار الشامل wouldnâ € ™ ر منع بلدان اخرى من التخلي عن هذه البرامج.

The Senate committee released its conclusions about pre-war intelligence on Friday, one day after a divided US Congress approved $100 billion to fund the war in Iraq, with many Democrats vowing to keep pushing for a US troop withdrawal, a move President Bush strongly rejects. لجنة مجلس الشيوخ الافراج عن استنتاجاته حول الاستخبارات قبل الحرب يوم الجمعة ، بعد يوم واحد منقسم على الولايات المتحدة أقر الكونغرس 100 مليار دولار لتمويل الحرب فى العراق ، مع كثير من الديموقراطيين القسم الى ابقاء دفع لانسحاب القوات الاميركية ، وهو تحرك الرئيس بوش يرفض بشدة .

Democrats, who now control the US Congress, said the Senate report made clear that President Bush, a Republican, and his aides ignored warnings about the chaos that would follow a US invasion of Iraq. الديموقراطيون ، الذين تسيطر الان على الكونغرس الاميركي ، وقال تقرير لمجلس الشيوخ ، اوضح ان الرئيس الاميركي جورج بوش ، وهو جمهوري ، ومساعديه تجاهل تحذيرات من حالة الفوضى التي سوف تتبع الغزو الامريكى للعراق. “Sadly, the administration’s refusal to heed these dire warnings - and worse, to plan for them - has led to tragic consequences for which our nation is paying a terrible price,” said Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat and the committee’s chairman.  € œsadly ، الادارة رفض تصغي الى هذه التحذيرات الرهيبه -- والاسوأ من ذلك ، الى خطة للهم -- وأدى الى نتائج ماساويه لامتنا هو الذي يدفع الثمن الرهيب ، "وقال جاي روكفلر ، الديموقراطي عن فرجينيا الغربية واللجنة 'ق الرئيس.

House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat and longtime war critic, said the report was no surprise, because President Bush had ignored “chapter and verse” of intelligence warnings. مجلس النواب نانسى بيلوسى المتكلم ، في كاليفورنيا الديموقراطي وناقد قديم الحرب ، وقال التقرير لم يكن مفاجاه ، لأن الرئيس بوش قد تجاهل "الفصل والآية" من تحذيرات الاستخبارات.

At least one Republican admitted that US intelligence had been prescient about the effects of war in Iraq. واحدة على الاقل الجمهوري اعترف بان المخابرات الامريكية قد تنبؤي حول آثار الحرب في العراق. “Our intelligence community accurately predicted many aspects of the chaotic landscape that we see in Iraq today,” said Sen. Chuck Hagel, a Nebraska Republican who voted for the war in 2002 but soon afterward became a vocal critic of the invasion.
