BP chief admits he could lose his job following the oil spill

BP’s chief has admitted he might lose his job over the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Tony Hayward, chief executive of BP, said he was under no immediate pressure to leave the company, but his future depended on the company’s actions to solve the crisis.

“I think I will be judged by my responses,” he told the Times. “I don’t feel my job is on the line but of course that might change.”

Hayward added the spill meant he has had difficulty sleeping and has received hate mail.
