A US killer drone strike has killed at least four people and injured several others in the troubled northeast Afghanistan, security sources say.
Afghan security officials said on Friday the strike took place in Kunar Province near the border with Pakistan. The victims are said to be Pakistani nationals.
This comes a day after another US drone attack left three children dead and six others wounded in the same province.
Local residents said many villagers in Kunarâ„¢s mountainous regions have been displaced because of growing US drone strikes there.
Pakistani and Afghan authorities have repeatedly condemned such attacks in their countries that often involve civilian casualties.
Many civilians have lost their lives in US-led strikes and operations in various parts of Afghanistan over the past decade, with Afghans becoming increasingly outraged at the seemingly endless number of the deadly assaults.
US officials claim that the airstrikes target militants, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims of the attacks.
Civilian casualties caused by foreign forces have been a major source of tension between Kabul and Washington.
Washington invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of combating terrorism.
The US-led war in Afghanistan, which has caused record-high civilian and military casualties, has become the longest military conflict in the American history.
