The US government fundamentally misrepresented Human Rights Watch’s position to justify its prosecution of Omar Khadr, a Canadian citizen facing charges for war crimes allegedly committed when he was just 15, Human Rights Watch said today. حكومة الولايات المتحدة اساسا فكرة خاطءه عن هيومان رايتس ووتش موقف لتبرير محاكمة عمر خضر ، وهو مواطن كندي الذين يواجهون تهما بارتكاب جرائم حرب يزعم أنها ارتكبت عندما كان 15 فقط ، وقالت هيومن رايتس ووتش اليوم.

Responding to Khadr’s argument that the military commissions do not have legal authority to prosecute child offenders, the US government in a court filing Monday invoked Human Rights Watch to support its claim that the military commissions should go forward. وردا على حجة خضر ان اللجان العسكرية لا تتمتع بسلطه قانونيه لملاحقة مرتكبي الجرائم ضد الاطفال ، والحكومة الامريكية فى المحكمه ايداع الاثنين الاحتجاج هيومان رايتس ووتش لدعم مطالبتها بأن اللجان العسكرية يجب ان تمضي قدما. “Not only is this position wrong, it’s absurd,” said Clive Baldwin, senior legal advisor at Human Rights Watch. Human Rights Watch also هيومان رايتس ووتش ايضا reiterated its call on Canada وكررت دعوتها الى كندا to intervene on behalf of one of its citizens and urge the United States to transfer Khadr to a fair process or repatriate him to Canada for rehabilitation. الى التدخل لصالح احد مواطنيها وتحث الولايات المتحدة على نقل خضر الى عملية منصفة او العودة منه الى كندا لاعادة التأهيل.
