La droga Ritalin di deficit di attenzione può innescare i cambiamenti di lunga durata nei cervelli dei bambini in giovane età.
L'università medica di Weill Cornell dei ricercatori a New York City ha intrapreso gli studi. Dopo avere guardato i cervelli dei ratti giovani, hanno trovato i cambiamenti nelle zone del cervello che controllano l'più alto funzionamento esecutivo, aggiunta ed appetito, rapporti sociali e sforzo.
Hanno notato che questi cambiamenti sono sparito gradualmente mentre i ratti sono stati tolti la droga.
Scientists warn doctors must be careful in diagnosing ADHD and prescribing Ritalin because the brain changes.
It could help children with the disorder but could cause harm to children with healthy brains.
The study was published in the Journal of Neuroscience.
