The best part about it is that any small business has the ability to participate in social media because the bulk of it is free.

There are three recommended social media websites that every small business should start out using. Each of these websites is incredibly popular and has a huge potential for bringing relevant potential customers to you.

1. Facebook – It’s all about Facebook these days. It’s a social media website in which people can post pictures, status updates, videos and profiles for the entire world to see. It’s a way for friends to connect with friends and in your case; it’s a way for your business to connect with customers. Sign up for a Facebook fan page and start spreading the word about your products and services online.

2. Blogging – If you don’t have a blog, you need one. Blogs are a fantastic way to entice customers to come back to your website again and again. By posting special deals, relevant information and interesting posts, you can gain popularity and watch your rankings rise as a result of it. Best of all, blogging invites customers and potential customers to place comments and suggestions so you can better listen to their needs, meet their needs, and reap the rewards.

3. YouTube – I hate to put it this way, but the modern day consumer is lazy. The majority is too lazy to read. The majority is too lazy to ask questions. So what do they do? They jump on YouTube to get their questions answered and the product recommendations they need by watching online videos. Best of all, anyone or entity can get their own YouTube channel and post informational or promotional videos to it. It doesn’t matter what products you sell or what services you provide.
