Russia today accused Britain of seeking a political confrontation but stopped short of an immediate tit-for-tat expulsion of diplomats over the Litvinenko affair.Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Alexander Grushko, said Moscow would “soon” inform the government of its counter-measures, but said the response would take into account the interests of “ordinary British citizens and businessmen”. واتهم بريطانيا وروسيا اليوم من السعي الى المواجهة السياسية ولكنها احجمت عن فوري الثاريه طرد الدبلوماسيين على مدى litvinenko affair.russia بالمجلس ، نائب وزير الخارجية الكسندر grushko ، من شأنه ان موسكو وقال "قريبا" ابلاغ حكومة انشطته - التدابير ، ولكنه قال ان الرد سوف تأخذ في الاعتبار مصالح من "المواطنين البريطانيين العاديين ورجال الاعمال".
Despite what appeared to be an effort to steer the crisis away from UK-Russia economic ties, Mr Grushko used the brief news conference to deliver some jabs at Britain, warning that the diplomatic crisis could prevent the countries working together on international issues. ورغم ما بدا انه محاولة لتوجيه دفة هذه الأزمة بعيدا عن المملكه المتحدة - روسيا الروابط الاقتصادية ، والسيد grushko استخدمت موجز اخبار المؤتمر على تقديم بعض الابر في بريطانيا ، محذرا من أن الازمة الدبلوماسية يمكن ان تحول دون البلدان العمل معا بشأن القضايا الدولية.
“What is happening makes it impossible for British and Russian agencies to cooperate on security,” he said. "ما يحدث يجعل من المستحيل البريطانية والروسيه وكالات للتعاون على الامن".
“It looks as though we are being punished for preserving our own constitution […] It is not an invitation to cooperation.” "يبدو كما لو اننا يعاقبون من اجل الحفاظ على دستورنا […] انها ليست دعوة للتعاون".
The Russian ambassador to London, Yury Fedotov, said Russia did not retaliate today as expected because “we’re serious people, we’re not rushing”. واوضح السفير الروسي لدى لندن ، يوري فيدوتوف ان موسكو لم ينتقم اليوم وكما كان متوقعا لان "نحن شعب خطيرة ، ونحن لسنا التسرع".
Speaking to reporters outside Westminster, Mr Fedotov said Andrei Lugovoi, the former intelligence official whom Britain wants extradited, might face trial in Russia and that such an offer had been made by Moscow. متحدثا للصحافيين خارج وستمنستر ، وقال فيدوتوف السيد اندريه lugovoi ، مسؤول المخابرات السابق من بريطانيا تريد تسليمه ، يمكن ان يواجه محاكمة في روسيا وان مثل هذا العرض قد ادلى بها موسكو.
At the same time the Kremlin also sketched out its probable strategy for toughing out the crisis, hinting that it would seek to divide Mr Brown’s government from its EU allies and partners - a technique Moscow has successfully employed in the past. وفي الوقت نفسه الكرملين ايضا الى رسم استراتيجية لالمحتمل في التجلد من أصل الأزمة ، ملمحا الى انها ستسعى الى تقسيم السيد براون الحكومة من حلفائها وشركائها في الاتحاد الاوروبي -- تقنيه موسكو قد استخدمت بنجاح في الماضي.
Mr Grushko effectively accused Britain of attempting to hijack the EU and said it was exploiting the murder of Alexander Litvinenko to achieve its own “unilateralist goals”. السيد grushko بريطانيا على نحو فعال واتهم بمحاوله اختطاف والاتحاد الاوروبي وقال انه من استغلال اغتيال الكساندر ليتفينينكو الخاصة بها لتحقيق "اهداف فردية".
“We hope that common sense will prevail in the European Union and its members will not yield to more attempts to turn relations between Russia and the EU into a kind of unique tool … which have nothing in common with real partnership interests between the EU and Russia.” "نحن نأمل ان يسود المنطق السليم في الاتحاد الاوروبي وأعضائه لن تذعن للمزيد من المحاولات لتحويل العلاقات بين روسيا والاتحاد الاوروبي الى نوع من اداة فريدة… والتي لا علاقة لها مشتركة مع مصالح شراكة حقيقية بين الاتحاد الأوروبي وروسيا ".
Moscow has been strikingly successful in dividing Europe over energy, making separate pipeline deals with Germany and the Czech Republic, and last week granting French energy company Total a 25% stake in developing a massive gas field in the Arctic. موسكو وقد كان اللافت للنجاح في شق اوروبا اكثر من الطاقة ، مما جعل خط أنابيب صفقات منفصلة مع المانيا والجمهورية التشيكيه ، والفرنسية الاسبوع الماضي منح الطاقة الاجماليه للشركة بنسبة 25 ٪ من المساهمين في تطوير حقل غاز ضخم في منطقة القطب الشمالي.
The Russian resources minister, Yuri Trutnev, earlier today signalled Moscow’s intention to shelter Russia’s economic ties to Britain from the diplomatic storm. وزير الموارد الروسي ، يوري trutnev ، في وقت سابق اليوم يشير إلى عزم موسكو على المأوى وتوسيع الروابط الاقتصادية بين روسيا وبريطانيا من ان العاصفة الدبلوماسية.
The foreign secretary, David Miliband, yesterday told the Commons that Britain’s expulsion of the four diplomats was “proportional and it is clear at whom it is aimed”. وزير الخارجية ، ديفيد miliband ، امس وقال ان بريطانيا والمشاعات طرد اربعة من الدبلوماسيين "نسبي ويبدو واضحا في ان تقدم اليه وتهدف".
The diplomats are officers with one of the successor organisations to the KGB, a signal that Britain suspects Russian intelligence agencies had a hand in Litvinenko’s murder. الدبلوماسيون مع ضباط هي واحدة من المنظمات الى الخلف كيه جي بي ، اشارة الى ان بريطانيا المشتبه فيهم وكالات الاستخبارات الروسيه كانت لها يد في اغتيال litvinenko.
Russian officials said today that Russia’s ambassador to the UK, Yury Fedotov, was summoned yesterday to the foreign office and given the names of the four diplomats. وقال مسؤولون الروسيه اليوم ان روسيا سفير المملكه المتحدة ، يوري فيدوتوف ، استدعي امس الى وزارة الخارجية وبالنظر الى اسماء اربعة من الدبلوماسيين.
The British authorities had given them 10 days to leave Britain, the source added. السلطات البريطانية قد اعطت لهم مهلة 10 ايام لمغادرة بريطانيا ، واضاف المصدر. He refused to name them, but said they occupied middle ranking positions. ورفض ان اسم لها ، ولكنها قالت انها المحتلة الاوسط المناصب.
In Moscow, Russia’s pro-Kremlin press laid the blame for the crisis on London “and the hypocritical” government of Gordon Brown. في موسكو ، روسيا في الصحافة الموالية للكرملين وضعت اللوم على الازمة لندن "والنفاق" من الحكومة غوردون براون.
On its front page the newspaper Isvestiya said that Britain had “declared war on Russia” next to an unflattering photo of an open-mouthed Mr Brown attempting an overambitious smash with a tennis racket. على صفحتها الاولى isvestiya وقالت الصحيفة ان بريطانيا قد "اعلنت الحرب على روسيا" القادم الى الصورة من غير اغراء مفتوح تكلم السيد براون يحاول تحطيم احد مع الطموح في كرة المضرب مضرب.
“The language of ultimatums, threats and demarches will hardly help British authorities in their dialogue with Russia,” the paper said. "لغة الانذارات والتهديدات والمساعي التي سيكون من الصعب مساعدة السلطات البريطانية في حوارها مع روسيا ،" وقالت الصحيفة.
It added: “The actions of Gordon Brown and his newly formed cabinet are nothing but a policy of double standards.” واضاف ان "الاجراءات التي تتخذها بلدة غوردون براون والتي شكلت حديثا لمجلس الوزراء ما هي الا لسياسة المعايير المزدوجه".
In an interview with the paper Mr Lugovoi - the man sought for extradition by the UK - dismissed claims that he poisoned Alexander Litvinenko at London’s Millennium hotel on November 1. في مقابلة مع ورقة السيد lugovoi -- سعي الرجل للتسليم من جانب المملكه المتحدة -- رفضت يزعم انه مات مسموما الكساندر ليتفينينكو في لندن في فندق الالفيه في 1 تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر.
Over the weekend waiter Norberto Andrade told the Sunday Telegraph that Mr Lugovoi had slipped radioactive polonium into Litvinenko’s tea “turning the teapot yellow and gooey”. خلال عطلة نهاية الاسبوع نوربيرتو النادل وقال اندرادي صنداي تلغراف ان السيد lugovoi البولونيوم المشعه قد انحدر الى litvinenko للشاي "تحويل ابريق الشاى الاصفر وطري ولزج".
But Mr Lugovoi told the paper: “It’s laughable. ولكن السيد lugovoi ورقة وقال : "انه امر مضحك. [Mr Andrade’s] claims are either a lie or stupidity. [السيد اندرادي] المطالبات أما الكذب أو الغباء. We did not look conspicuous and left after about 15 minutes. ونحن لا ننظر للنظر وغادرت بعد حوالى 15 دقيقة. No matter how experienced the waiter might have been, it’s strange that he should remember us for so long,” ومهما تعرضت لربما كان النادل ، وانه من الغريب انه علينا أن نتذكر ذلك لفترة طويلة ، "
Most ordinary Russians seemed unmoved by the crisis. ويبدو ان معظم الروس العاديين غير متأثر من الازمة.
“This isn’ta big crisis, it’sa medium-sized one,” Natasha Trusova, a 35-year-old newspaper courier told the Guardian.
