Outrageous Fox News Scheme: Prisoners Should Commit Suicide to Save Taxpayer Money

On Thursday night’s “The Colbert Report,” host Stephen Colbert poked fun at Fox News’ Eric Bolling for saying that his solution to lower prison costs by having prisoners commit suicide may be a brilliant way to save taxpayer dollars.

“Now folks, you might be saying, ‘Stephen, Ariel Castro is a vile monster whose suicide this week is just the dark end of a dark life. How can anything associated with that man possibly make me smile? “That’s what I thought,” he said.

Until he tuned in to the Fox News show ‘The Five,’ starring Eric Bolling, who announced that after Castro’s suicide, taxpayers should be glad that they are now off the hook for his care and feeding during his imprisonment.

Bolling held up a white board with a drawing of a noose in which he calculated that nearly $800,000 had been saved by his suicide.
