La NATO sonda l'abuso afgano del `del detainee'

La forza NATO-condotta nell'Afghanistan il lunedì lo ha detto che stava studiando un rapporto che gli Stati Uniti ed i soldati afgani hanno legato un detainee ad un veicolo militare e che ha minacciato di trascinare attraverso una strada.
Un soldato degli Stati Uniti e un numero non specificato di meccanici afgani sono stati sospesi dopo lo scomparto tedesco, fuoco, segnalato l'avvenimento del 10 giugno nella provincia di Ghazni.
I soldati inoltre sono stati segnalati per minacciare la famiglia del sospetto.
“Prendiamo molto seriamente queste accuse,„ colonnello Martin P. Schweitzer, comandante regionale della forza di assistenza di sicurezza internazionale (ISAF), ad esempio in una dichiarazione.
“The coalition has appointed a senior officer to investigate the allegations in coordination with (Afghan National Security Forces) officials and the local community leaders.
“The soldier in question has been temporarily removed from his post, pending the outcome of the investigation.”
The US soldier was from the 82nd Airborne Division, which is serving under the NATO force.
The statement added that any criminal investigation into the American would be carried out by the US army, and could take months.
