L'AVOCAT représentant un résidant britannique détenu dans le compartiment de Guantánamo a écrit à l'information cherchante de Taoiseach Brian Cowen sur des vols de CIA impliqués dans l'interprétation « extraordinaire » de son client qui a débarqué en Shannon en 2002 et 2004.

Clive Stafford Smith a écrit à M. Cowen vendredi au nom de Binyam Mohamed, qu'il représente dans le litige militaire de corpus de processus de commissions des USA et de habeas des USA.

M. Mohamed, un portier de Kensington à Londres, avait 30 ans sur le bout de jeudi, et a été détenu pour les six dernières années, quatre dans Guantánamo et avant celui pendant deux années au Maroc et en Afghanistan.

Tandis que la Commission de droits de l'homme, les internationaux d'amnistie et les autres corps ont accentué le mouvement des vols de CIA impliqués dans « l'interprétation extraordinaire » par l'aéroport de Shannon, c'est la première fois que les autorités irlandaises ont été demandées l'information sur des vols spécifiques au nom d'un détenu spécifique.

Par coïncidence, le cas de M. Mohamed monte devant le tribunal à Londres aujourd'hui, où il prend des démarches juridiques de revue sur la décision du gouvernement BRITANNIQUE pour ne pas libérer l'évidence en sa possession qui aiderait à montrer qu'il a été rendu par la CIA vers le Maroc, où il réclame il a été torturé.

Jusqu'ici les autorités BRITANNIQUES ont refusé pour les raisons qu'elles ne sont pas liées à l'aide dans les démarches devant une cour dans un autre état.

Selon le sursis, l'organisation BRITANNIQUE qui fonctionne au nom des détenus BRITANNIQUES dans Guantánamo, les agents britanniques a rencontré M. Mohamed quand il a été arrêté au Pakistan, interviewé lui pendant trois heures, et apparemment dit les USA qu'il n'était un « personne ». Les agents BRITANNIQUES lui ont également indiqué qu'il allait être rendu par les USA à un pays étranger.

« Quand Binyam a été dûment envoyé au Maroc pendant 18 mois de torture, le R-U a fourni l'information de fond aux USA qui ont été employés pour le manoeuvrer en ses sessions de torture, » sursis dit dans un document de briefing.

M. Stafford Smith a dit dans sa lettre à M. Cowen que M. Mohamed a été saisi par les autorités pakistanaises sur une charge d'immigration en avril 2002, et là maltraité par les USA et des autorités pakistanaises.

Il « a été alors rendu » au Maroc, où il a souffert la torture, y compris faire couper son pénis avec un rasoir. According to the letter, this treatment was supervised by US agents.

He said that the plane that rendered him to Morocco, number N379P, flew the next day, July 23rd, 2002, to Shannon where it refuelled and the crew stayed overnight before flying on to Washington. Flights logs are enclosed with the letter.

On January 22nd, 2004, Mr Mohammed was “rendered” from Morocco to the so-called “Dark Prison” in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he endured a further five months of torture. According to Mr Stafford Smith, this rendition was also facilitated by Ireland.

The plane that brought him, number N313P, flew from Washington to Shannon on January 16th, where the crew again stayed overnight before flying on to Larnaca in Cyprus and from there to Rabat, where they picked up Mr Mohamed on January 22nd.

Since then he has been held in Guantánamo, in conditions described by Mr Stafford Smith as “worse than any I have witnessed in 25 years of visiting clients on death row across the United States”. Mr Stafford Smith is seeking information from the Irish Government that might assist Mr Mohammed in his defence on any charge of involvement in terrorism and vindicate his claims of having been tortured.

This information sought includes the names of those travelling on the flights, their passport details, the hotel or hotels they stayed in, all records, including telephone records, and all details of those involved in the flights.

Mr Stafford Smith heads the UK branch of Reprieve, which is working on behalf of a number of detainees in Guantánamo.
