واشنطن - ال [فدرل بورو وف ينفستيغأيشن] يقول يوم الجمعة أنّ نال هو تلقّى مناسبا الهاتف سجلات من مراسلات لنيويورك أوقات واشنطن موقعة في الجرائد' إندونيسيا مكاتب في 2004.

روبرت [س.]. [مولّر] [إييي], كشف مديرة من ال [ف.ب.ي.], الحلقة في دعوة [فون] أن يفوتر [كلّر], المحررة تنفيذيّة من الأوقات, واعتذر ل هو. هو أيضا تكلّم مع [ليونرد] [دووني] [جر.], المحررة تنفيذيّة من واشنطن موقعة, أن يعتذر.

[ف.ب.ي.]. مسؤولات قالوا تجلّى الحادث كجزء ال يستمرّ مراجعات بالعدل قسم مفتشة جنرال مكتب داخل المكتب تجميع صحيحة من هاتف سجلات من خلال "طارئ" سجلات طلبات يصدر أن يخابر مزودات.

بحثت السجلات كان ظاهريّا كجزء إرهاب تحقيق, غير أنّ ال [ف.ب.ي.]. لم يفسّر ماذا كان يكون تحرّيت أو لما المراسلات' يخابرون سجلات كان اعتبرت موافقة.

العدل يضع قسم قضيب عال على التجميع المراسلات' سجلات في تحقيقات بسبب [فيرست مندمنت] اهتمامات, وينال هذا سجلات يتطلّب الموافقة من النائبة نائب عامّ. أنّ لم يتبع متطلب كان عندما ال [ف.ب.ي.]. نال السجلات من اثنان مراسلات للأوقات في إندونيسيا, ريمون [بونّر] و [جن] [برلز], [أس ولّ س] اثنان مراسلات هناك للموقعة, [إلّن] [نكشيما] و [نتشا] [تمبوبولون], مسؤولات يقال.

"ال [ف.ب.ي.]. ارتكبت إلى يحمي ال [نوس مديوم] متوافقة مع ال [فيرست مندمنت] و [دبرتمنت وف جوستيس] سياسات, وعلى تأسّف نحن [فري موش] أنّ هذا حالة وقع," [فلري] [كبروني], إستشارة عامّة للمكتب, كتب في حرف إلى [مر.]. [كلّر] أرسل يوم الجمعة.

[مس.] [كبروني] قال الهاتف سجلات, أيّ يعدّد الأرقام أنّ كان دعات غير أنّ لا يبدي الدعوات' محتوى, تلقّى يكون طهّرت من ال [ف.ب.ي.] قاعدة معطيات. هو أيضا قال لم يستعمل السجلات كان كجزء أيّ تحقيق.

غير أنّ [مر.]. [دووني] قال [ب] هو لم واضحة إلى ه لما ال [ف.ب.ي.]. كانوا راغبة في مراسلاته' سجلات في المكان أولى.

"يريد أنا أن يجد أكثر حول ماذا هذا يكون حوالي," هو قال. “We will be asking our general counsel to advise us on what more we should be doing about this.”

Mr. Keller said: “I told the director that it was gracious of him to apologize. Of course, we’d still like to know more about how this happened and how the bureau is securing against similar violations in the future.”

An initial report by the inspector general last year found that the F.B.I. had violated its own policies in tens of thousands of cases by obtaining phone records in terrorism investigations through what are known as national security letters, without first getting needed approval or meeting other standards. In some cases, the F.B.I. used a whole new class of demands — emergency or “exigent” letters — that are not authorized by law. The emergency records were used in the Indonesian episode.

The inspector general’s findings have prompted outrage in Congress, with leading lawmakers calling for greater checks on the F.B.I.’s ability to gather private information in terrorism investigations. But bureau officials say they have instituted internal reforms to solve the problem.
