Clinton urges Bush to boycott Beijing Olympics كلينتون يحث بوش على مقاطعة اولمبياد بكين
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton urged President George W. Bush on Monday to boycott the Beijing Olympics opening ceremonies this summer unless China improves human rights. واشنطن (رويترز) -- المرشح الرئاسى الديمقراطى هيلاري كلينتون حث الرئيس جورج دبليو بوش يوم الاثنين الى مقاطعة الالعاب الاولمبيه في بكين مراسم الافتتاح الصين فى هذا الصيف ما لم يحسن حقوق الانسان.
Clinton, in a statement, cited violent clashes in Tibet and the lack of pressure by China on Sudan to stop “the genocide in Darfur.” كلينتون ، في بيان ، استشهد اشتباكات عنيفة فى التبت ، وعدم وجود ضغوط من جانب الصين على السودان لوقف "الاباده الجماعية في دارفور."
“At this time, and in light of recent events, I believe President Bush should not plan on attending the opening ceremonies in Beijing, absent major changes by the Chinese government,” the New York senator said. "في هذا الوقت ، وفي ضوء الاحداث الاخيرة ، واعتقد ان الرئيس بوش ليست خطة على الذين حضروا مراسم الافتتاح فى بكين ، غاب تغييرات رئيسية من جانب الحكومة الصينية ،" نيويورك قال السناتور.
Bush plans to attend the Summer Olympics ceremonies in Beijing in August and so far has resisted pressure to change his plans in response to a violent crackdown against protesters in Tibet by Chinese authorities. بوش خطط لحضور احتفالات الألعاب الاولمبيه الصيفيه في بكين في آب / اغسطس وحتى الان قاوم ضغوط لتغيير خططه وردا على القمع العنيف ضد المحتجين فى التبت من قبل السلطات الصينية.
China has also been accused of refusing to use its influence on the Sudanese government to get it to stop what the United States calls a genocide in the Darfur region. الصين كما تم رفض المتهم من استخدام نفوذها على الحكومة السودانية لحملها على وقف ما وتدعو الولايات المتحدة ابادة جماعيه في اقليم دارفور.
Clinton joined US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California in calling on Bush to boycott the ceremonies. كلينتون انضم النواب الامريكى نانسي بيلوسي المتحدث كاليفورنيا في دعوة بوش الى مقاطعة الاحتفالات.
“I encourage the Chinese to take advantage of this moment as an opportunity to live up to universal human aspirations of respect for human rights and unity, ideals that the Olympic games have come to represent,” Clinton said. "انني اشجع الصينية الى الاستفادة من هذه اللحظة باعتبارها فرصة لترقى الى مستوى التطلعات الانسانيه العالمية لاحترام حقوق الانسان وحده ، مثل دورة الالعاب الاولمبيه التي باتت تمثل" ، وقال كلينتون.
Speaking before Clinton’s statement was released, White House spokesman Tony Fratto said that, “We have a great deal of concern about human rights in China.” وهو يتحدث امام كلينتون بيان أطلق سراحه ، وقال المتحدث باسم البيت الابيض توني fratto وقال ان "لدينا قدرا كبيرا من القلق بشأن حقوق الانسان في الصين."
“We have never been afraid to express those views,” he said. "لدينا قط يخشون التعبير عن تلك الآراء ،" قال.
He said the Bush administration expects American athletes to participate in the Olympics. وقال ان ادارة الرئيس جورج بوش الاميركية تتوقع من الرياضيين للمشاركة في الألعاب الاولمبيه.
