Metropolitanpolizei-Berechtigung Mitglied Jenny Jones besagt wurde sie über die Entwicklung von Tasers Saying betroffen: „Ich möchte wissen, wenn sie durchliefen alle korrekten Verfahren.“ Heute führten die getroffenen bestätigten TSG Offiziere den überfall auf der Hocke. Eine Sprecherin gesagt: „Eine Risikobeurteilung wurde durchgeführt, um eine dynamische Eintragung in unbekannte Eigenschaften zu umfassen und die Natur der Intelligenzpolizei hatte in bezug auf, wem nach innen sein kann. Infolgedessen wurde Taser autorisiert, auf dem Betrieb genommen zu werden.“ Hannah McClure, 21, der an der Hocke war, sagte: „Wir sassen auf dem Fußboden mit unseren Händen, die oben unsere ruhigen Absichten zeigen. Dutzende Aufstandpolizei angemeldet. Ich erinnere mich, einen Offizier mit einer Taser Gewehr zu sehen. Er zeigte es auf uns und kreischte an uns, um unten zu liegen Gesicht und mit den Armen, die heraus ausgedehnt wurden. Sehr direkte und ausfällige Sprache wurde verwendet. „Ich hörte, daß ein Kerl mehr Mißbrauch empfing, weil er Schmierfilmbildung war. Sie nahmen den Kerl weg und später hörte ich ihn zu kreischen, zu helfen, ich benötige einen Arzt'. „Ich lege aus den Grund für herum 30 Minuten und wurde dann auf dem Misstrauen des heftigen Verhaltens mit Handschellen gefesselt, gesucht und zurückgehalten. Ich wurde psychologisch gelassen und abgelassen emotional, entsetzt worden an den Taktiken, die von der Polizei verwendet wurden. Ich glaube, daß Rechtsverfahren für diesen nicht notwendigen und heftigen überfall genommen werden sollte.“ Dom Sumpf, 26, ein anderes Demonstrationsmodell in der Hocke, gesagt: „Es war terrifying. They rushed in and one was carrying this Taser. He faced the room with his legs apart and was pointing it at people. We were all really shocked. One of the people next to me was filming it. He got hit with a baton. Anyone who was not lying on their front got hit.” In a separate development today, one of Parliament’s most senior MPs said police should be made to display their names as well as numbers to make them more easily accountable. Keith Vaz, chairman of the Commons home affairs select committee, also said this would “humanise” officers and improve relations with the public. “We have to think about humanising the police and make them more accountable and that means showing their names, which are much easier for the public to remember.” Mr Vaz’s call came as MPs prepared to launch a new inquiry into the policing of public protests and a separate probe into the handling of cases by the Independent Police Complaints Commission. The first inquiry will begin tomorrow when the IPCC’s chairman Nick Hardwick and the new Chief Inspector of Constabulary Denis O’Connor appear before the committee to face questioning about the G20 protests. It is expected to be followed by further hearings if MPs agree more witnesses should give testimony on the police’s controversial “kettling” tactic and alleged brutality by some officers. The second inquiry into the operation and effectiveness of the IPCC will take place later this year, although Mr Hardwick will also be challenged about this during tomorrow’s hearing. Mr Vaz added he wanted to see a Parliamentary statement or debate on the G20 protests, but said the home affairs select committee hearings would help fill the void by allowing MPs to discuss police tactics. “There have been calls for a public debate on this and Denis O’Connor has been asked to conduct a review by the Met, but Parliament should not be left out of this,” he said. Meanwhile, the joint Human Rights Committee, which published a critical report into public order policing, is considering re-opening its inquiry in the wake of the G20 protests.
