If you struggle to make things, then a large DC, not AC, A DC motor will work perfectly.

To get the battery power into useful 230 AC, just buy an inverter (about £20 for 150 W inverter, I use 300 W)

If you can't work with wood you can make them from thick plastic drainpipes too. (Cut the pipe using a jigsaw then grind it smooth)

If you want a directional system you need slip rings and the turbine head has to pivot on bearings, but to get plans for this just Google &/or Google video "Home Made Wind Generator"

I do not pay for power for my lighting and have not done so for over 3 years. Use Deep Cycle batteries and don't overcharge.

A new technology which is on its way is called T E C, The Tesla Energy Cell. Keep a look out for this because it works 24/7, you just build it once and it sits in a dark cupboard.

in this case it isn't very useful to connect it to your house.
but if you want to you first have to use a transformer to make it 110v or 220v.
or you could use a convertor that u can use in your car to change 12v to 110 or220v

Now that you have the actual turbine, how do you connect it to your house to use it? As you can tell, I'm a complete wind power noob, but any information would be helpful! Thanks in advance.

Is it easy to convert alternating current to direct current?
Is it easy to interface the power generated in your turbine with your home? What's required?
Sincerely,
Peter Hoffman
