About RINF Alternative News

Launched in 2004 RINF Alternative News is one of the UK’s first completely self-financed and 100% independent news organisations.

If you’d like to get in touch I’m usually found lurking on or Facebook or Google + and welcome your thoughts and opinions.

About the Founder:

As a lone parent, the future of my children is my core motivation for running this website.

As our world continues to devolve into a surveillance society where dissidents are persecuted, endless war and bloodshed is conducted for the benefit of corporations, where a subservient press ignore journalistic standards and pander without question to an authoritarian government, and when my children ask me why they are forced to live in a world like this, I want to be able to look them in the eye and tell them that I – along with others, made a stand against it and tried to stop it.

My background is in web design and digital marketing. I left a lucrative career in the corporate sector to manage RINF fulltime.

Why RINF is needed:

I established RINF to function as a vehicle for justice; to highlight political, military and corporate corruption, and to serve as a counter-voice to cut through the noise and hyperbole of a mainstream media which supports government policy without question or investigation.

How RINF is Funded:

To keep ourselves truly unbiased, unlike the vast majority of independent news organisations, we refuse to accept corporate or government grants in any shape or form and our funding is solely dependent on contributions from readers and banner ads.

Article Guidelines:

I welcome high quality and informative articles that are factual and well researched. As with all news organisations, we reserve the right to edit and modify and submissions as we deem fit, this includes changing or removing content and hyperlinks that we do not feel is beneficial to our readership.

To be included in our ‘featured’ section, which is heavily promoted, we may require 48 hour exclusivity, we reserve the right to make changes to the headline and to add comments from the editor.

Projects:

Since 2004 RINF has worked on a number of projects:

  • Free-to-attend events featuring prominent researchers, authors and activists.
  • Documentary films exposing political, corporate and social injustices.
  • British television show revealing the crimes of Western leaders.
  • Free web hosting for progressive campaigns and groups.
